Councilmen present, Lordingly, Kilcrease, and Bird. Minutes of the previous meeting read Thatcher, Warner, and approved. Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented: The Sweetwater Water Co. Upon the recommendation of Chief of Police Knapp, it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that E.L. Whittemore be granted a Pool and Card Room license. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. °Communication from the Federal Power Commission regarding investigation of restraining orders by the Courts against Municipally owned electric generating plants, read and ordered filed. 218 Communication from Louis J. Berger, regarding an amusement concession. Mr. Berger present and explained the proposition. Matter was laid over until Attorney Isaacson presents an opinion. °Resolution of the Planning Commission approving the closing of portion of E Ave. read and ordered filed. 0 Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1772 Closing Portions of E Avenue, be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to wit: Ayes; Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, and Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen, none. °Communications from Senator Ed. Fletcher, regarding certain Legislative bills, read and ordered filed. 'Reports of the City Court, Police Department, Fire Department, and File Marshall for the month of May, 1935, read and ordered filed. .Communication from the League of Municipalites of San Diego County, stating the next meeting at El Cgjon, read and ordered filed. a Communication from the Division of Highways, including a statement of the gasoline tax allocation for the biennium 1933-35 accruing to the City of National City, read and orddred filed. Communication from the School of Government of the USC, read and ordered filed. Communication from Henry W tache regarding the injuries received by Mrs. Ruth Jennings due to a fall caused by a defective sidewalk at 7th and rational Ave., read and referred to the City Attorney. °Annexation petition submitted by Annexation League filed and referred to the City Cle2k for checking. ° Communication from the County Board of Supervisors regarding action taken on the ordinanee regulating the dis- mantling, wrecking and salvaging of vehicles, read and orderdd filed. 219 ,Matter of the Blackman Lease presented by the City Attorney Isaacson who read a.;communication from W.H.Ferry regarding Union Trust Companys interest in daid lease. It was moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Cordingly, that the base be reduced to $ 50.00 per month to take effect June 1, 1935, for the period of one year from date. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. °Specifications for the proposed improvements by the National City Salvage Co. filed. J RESOLUTION NO. 1771, determining appeal of National City Salvage Co. and granting certain conditional exceptions to the use of its property, read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease, that RES. NO. 1771 be adopted. Carried, by the following vote to wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Warner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, Thatcher. Absent: Councilmen, none. Moved by Warner, seconded by Cordingly, that the State Compensation Insurance Fund policy bO renewed and warrant drawn for the deposit. Carried by the following vote to wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, TThhtcher, Warner,Bird. Nayes; Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen, none. Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the City Attorney prepare Notice of Bids for gegal printing. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease, that the meeting adjourn. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
