Councilmen present, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, and Bird. Minutes of the regular meeting of February 19, 1935, read and approved. Carried, bythe following vote to wit: Ayes:Councilmen, Cordingly,Thatcher,lilcfease,Warner,Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent:Councilmen, none. Mr. Harry Garber, member of the Water Committee, present and spoke briefly on the water situation. He asked that the City Council adopt a resolution urging immediate action on the water case now before the Federal Court; and forward copies of same to the Railroad Commission, Governor of 198 California, and President of the United States. He also asked the Council to call a mass meeting of water users in the near future at the Sweetwater Union High School in order to get the concerted action of the people in regard to the case. vMoved by Kilcrease, seconded by Warner, that RESOLUTION NO. /7 6 6 be adopted and copies of same be forwarded to the Railroad Commission the Governor of California, and the President of the United States. Carried by the following vote to wit: Ayes: Councilmen, 0ord±ngly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, and Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmmn, none. G Report of the City Court, Fire Department, Police Department, and the City Marshall for the month of February read and ordered filed. Communication from Martha E Truesdell submitting a petition signed by the residents and property owners on Arcadia Place asking for a street light, read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the matter be referred to the Street Department. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Thatcher,seconded by Warner, that C.R.Linn be appointed Deputy City Assessor for two montha at the wage of $5.00 per day. Carried, by the following vote to wit: Ayes:Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, and Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none, Absent;Councilmen, none. Chief Bird reported on the matter referred to him in regards to the electvolier to be erected by A.T.Graff. Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease, that the request be denied as it is a direct violation of the City Ordinance 573 present No. . Carried, all Councilmenpvoting aye. Street Superintendent Finnerty reported that the breaks ih the Paradise Valley Sanitarium Sewer line are being repaired. 199 Police Commissioner Warner requested that an addition- al traffick officer be appointed for Sunday nights:at the wage of $4.50 per eight hours. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the, request be granted. Carried by the following vote to wit: Ayes:Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, and Bird. Mayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen., noneā€¢. Chief Bird and Coimeilman Thatcher reported on the proposed changes in the Bldgag Ordinance; Chief Bird statingthat no changes aro necessary.
