Certificate of ownership to Ford Motor bought by the City in July, 1935, ordered filed. -Communication from the S.D. bons. Gas & Electric Co. submitting a sealed bid for furnishing current for Lighting Dist. # 1. Moved b y Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the bid bd,accepted and contract awarded. Carried by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, gird. Hayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen, none. Communication from the State League of Municipalities acknowledging the payment of the 1935 dues, r-ad and ordered filed. Communication from Dudley Peugh requesting a conditional exception to R-1- Zone, read and referred to the Planning Commission. RESOLJTION NO. 1783, Fixing Tax Rate and Levying the Taxes for the Fiscal year 1935-36, read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the resolution be adopted:.Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Mayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen, none. RESOLUTION NO. 1784, Authorizing the payment of interest coupons in Sinking Fund No. 4--Series D., read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the resolutionce adopted. Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, ?Varner, Bird. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen, none. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the proper officers be authorized to make the following transfers: 1,775.16, from the Sp. Del. Tax Ftnd to the General Fund. $ 500.00, from the General Fund to the Library Fund. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye: 239 Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that Mayor bird be selected as delegate to the State League of Municipalities Convention at San Francisco and that the City furnish transportation, Carried, by the following vote to -wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Filcrease, Thatcher, Warner. Nayes: Councilmen, none. Absent: Councilmen, none. City Attorney Isaacson reported that the case of Jessie M. Whiting was decided in favor of the plaintiff, as a judgement of 2,000.00 was given against the City. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the meeting adjourn. RESOLUTION NO. / 7 fl DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL ELECTION hELD IN TPE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY ON Sep. ember 17, 1035, FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING UPON THE CONSOLID'!ATION CF THE CIT.: OF NATIONAL CITE AND T:E CITY OF ; AN DIEGO. WHEREAS, a SpecialnElection was held in the City of 'National Vitt', California, on the 17th day of September,1935, for the purpose of voting upon the proposition hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, notice of such election, the establishment of election precincts and voting places for holding the same and all things reHuired to be done in reference thereto rave been heretofore performed all in the manner, form and time re- quired by and WHEREAS the election officers immediately after the closing of the polls counted the votes cast thereat, certifidd and sealed the same, all in the manner and fora required by law, and that the returns of said election have been deposited with the Clerk of said City of wational City; and WHEPEAS this being tre regular meeting of the City Council next after the expiration of three days from and after the date of said election, said Council met and proceeded to canvass said returns and declared the result ther of as required by law; NON THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City 'douncil of the City of rational City, California, as follows: (1) That the proposition voted upon at said Special Election was as follows: PPROPOSITION SHALL ThE CITIES OF NATIJNAL CITY AND SAN DIEGO BE CONSOLIDATED AND THE PROPERTY IN SUCH MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS BE, AFTER SUCH CONSOLIDATION, SUBJECT TO TAXATION AT THE SAME RATE TO PAY ALL OF ?BE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS, IINCURRED OR AUT:ORIZED, OF THE SAID CITY OF NATIONAL CITY AND THE SAID CITY OF SAN DIEGO?
