Regular meeting of City Council called to order by the Mayor.
Councilmen present, Thatcher, Pettit, Waddell, and Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting of December 20, 1933, read and
approved.

Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit, that the bills be
allowed, and Warrants ordered drawn for game. Car Sed all

Councilmenr present voting aye.
Mr. Harry Garber was present regarding Water Hearing. Moved
by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher that $25.00 be allowed Mr. Garber
for the printing of hand bills calling a mass meeting on Water
rates. Staid $25.00 to be paid from the General Fund. Carried, by th
following vote. Ayes, Councilmen Thatcher, Waddell and Requa. Noe

dhow being the time set for hearing protests on closing of
Alley in Kimball's Sub., same was taken up.,, The following protests
presented: Forrest M. Raymond, Mr. & Mrs. E. J. Arthur, Anna G. &
George Allen, Josephine Kirby. After hearing oral protests of
George Allen, E. J. Arthur, and Josephine Kirby, the hearing was'
continued until the next meeting.
Mr. Ford of the Paradise Valley Sanitarium was present and
presented Mr. A. 0. Sage, who requests a temporary building permit.
Moved by Pettit, seconded by Waddell, that permission be granted
Mr. A. 0. Sage to construct a temporary building at 8th Street

and "B" Avenue for a period of three months, beginning January
ro
26, 1934 and tl-th the previsions of the City Ordinances relating
to electrical wiring, plumbing, and roofing, and the type of
Construction be waived, provided the building be constructed under
the supervision of the Building and Electrical Inspectors of the
City of National City. Carried.
°Application of D. G. McDaniel for permission to have Pool
Hall License transferred from 1820 Taft Avenue to 1807 McKinley
Avenue, was read. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Waddell, that
permission be granted. Carried.
°Report of Building Inspector for month of December, 1933,
read and ordered filed.
° Report of City Court for month of December 1933, read and
ordered filed.
City Attorney reported on accident on Palm Avenue. Matter
laid over until next meeting.
"City Attorney recommended application for refund on Beverage
License of Lee Jung be denied.
Matter of insurance was taken up. Moved by Waddell, seconded
by Thatcher, that the policy of the Great American Co. be accepted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
ORDINANCE N0. 632, an Ordinance of City of National City
amending Ordinance No. 608, was placed on final passage. Moved
by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that.the"Ordinance be ad®pted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the Council
adopt the following Resolution to the memory of Frank L. Wade.
"RESOLUTION N0. 1727
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of National
City, California, as follows:
That Whereas God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to
remove from us one of our loyal and faithful citizens and a man
of sincere integrity and rare ability, his absence will be keenly
felt by those who came in close touch with him.
We extend to his beloved and faithful wife and his family,
our sincere sympathy in their great loss.

' We direct that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes and
a copy thereof sent to Mrs. Wade.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the building ' -
permit fees be paid to the Building Inspector, Lewis R. Aldrich,-
out of the General Fund. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the Council
adjourn to 2: o'clock P. M. Friday, the 5th day of January, 1934.
Carried.
