National City, California, January 16, 1934.
Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present Pettit, Thatcher, Waddell, and Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting_ of January 2, 1934, and regular
adjourned meetings of January 5, 1934, January 9, 1934, and
January 12, 1934, read and approved.
The following bills audited by the Finance Committee presented:

Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher, that the bills be
allowed, and Warrants ordered drawn for same. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
°Communication from J. D. Wilkinson, Marie C. Wilkinson,
and Herbert A. Barnes, Was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by
Pettit, that the Communication be filed. Carried.
°Communication from War Department, regarding Harbor Develop-
ment, read and ordered filed.
VCommunication from Fred'A. Wilkie, regarding action of
Planning Commission on proposed new City Hall, read and ordered
filed.

()Communication from Fred A. Wilkie regarding the diverting
of traffic from National Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue, read and
ordered filed.
Certified copy of Resolution passed.by Planning Commission
on closing portion of Alley in Kimball's Sub., was read. Moved
by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher, that the copy of Resolution be
filed. Carried. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by I8 ttit, that
the matter be referred to the City Engineer for survey and report.
Carried. Moved by 18 ttit, seconded by Waddell, that the hearing
of protests be continued until next meeting, pending report of
City Engineer. Carried.
°Communications from Mr. Kilcrease and Mr. Crosby, asking
that their applications as members of City Council not be considered
further, was read and ordered filed.
Report of Fire Dept. for year ending 1933, read and ordered
filed.
°RESOLUTION NO. 1729, accepting deed of Nreida M. Pallas and
Gustav R. Pallas, was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
Matter of accident on Palm Avenue laid over until next meeting.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Pettit, that Paul Roderick be
appointed a member of the City Council, to serve until the next
General Election. Carried.
Mr. Vincent was present requesting refund on $3.00 septic tank
permit fee. Request denied.
°ORDINANCE N0. 633, calling special election for the purpose of
incurring a bonded indebtedness, was read. Moved by Pettit, seconded
by Waddell, that the Ordinance be adopted. Carried, all Council-
men -present voting aye.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the Council adjourn
Carried.
