Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher,
Warner, and Bird.
The minutes of the regular meeting of May 15, 1934, read
and approved.

Cordingly, that the bills be
allowed, and Warrants ordered for same. Carried.
o Communication from J. A. Isaacson, City Attorney, regarding
claim of Chauncey A. Noble, was
read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded
by Kilcrease, that the communication be placed on file. Carried.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Kilcrease,that the claim
of Chauncey A. Noble be denied. Carried.

0 Communication from Lilian J. Rice, accepting the appoint-
ment as a member of the Board of Examiners and Appeals, read
and ordered filed.
o Communication from J. E. Blackman regarding reduction of
rent on Tideland Leases, read and ordered filed.
°Communication from the Veterans Democratic Club regarding
parking and stop signs, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded
by Cordiingly, that the communication be filed. Carried.
°Communication from Mrs. Estella M. Willoughby regarding
payment of Municipal Bonds of National City, which she owns,
was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the
offer be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
o RESOLUTION NO. 1742, authorizing payment of interest & principa
coupons to the amount of $1507.35 from Sinking Fund No. 5, was
read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present vot-
ing aye.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordirgly, that the proper
Officers be authorized to draw a Warrant in favor of Asa R. Webb,
City Treasurer, in the sum of $p63.90, to be deposited in the
General Fund. Carried, all Councilmen present voting ave.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the proper
Officers be authorized to transfer from the General Fund to
Sinking Fund No. 5, the sum of $63.90, Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
PCommunication from the Paradise Valley Sanitarium & Hos-
pital regarding modification of the Building Code, was read
and ordered filed.
QCommunication from Susie Moore regarding two vacancies
on the Library Board, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded
by Warner, that Mrs. H. H. Hallett be re -appointed as member
of the Library Board. Carried, all Councilmen present voting
aye. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the Rev.
Paul Jones be re -appointed as member of the Library Board.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Report of Bldg. Inspector James A. Bird for the month of
May, 1934 was read and ordered filed.

ipalities, was read and ordered filed.
Water reports from the San Diego County Health Dept.,
read and ordered filed.
Time report from the Fire Dept. for the month of May,
1934, read and ordered filed.
o Communication from R. W. Bixby regarding services of a
Sanitary Engineer, was read and ordered filed.
Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher, that the San Diego
County Health Dept. be requested to vaccinate dogs in City
of National City. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
0 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1743, Rational City Lighting
District No. 1, was read. Moved by Warner, seconded by Thatcher,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
