National City, California, Nov.20, 1934
Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present, Cordingly, Thatcher, \Varner, Bird.
Councilmen absent, Kilcrease.
Minutes of the regular meeting of Oct. 16, 1934, read and
corrected. Minutes approved as corrected.
Bills audited by the Finance Committee presented:

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that the bills by a
allowed, and Warrants ordered drawn in accordance withtthe
provisions in Resolution # 1742. Carried, all Councilmen pre-
sent voting aye.
Communication from N.CN Salvage Co. petitioning the'City
Council to grant their petition to erectta'building,-said
pet&tion having been rejected by Planning Commission. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, to overrule the Planning
commissions decision and grant petition, providing the
building is approved by the Building Inspector. Carried by
the following vote to wit:
Ayes: Councilman, Cordingly, Warner, Bird.
Nays: Councilmen, Thatcher.
Absent: Councilmen, Kilcrease.
o Upon recommendation of Leslie E. Knapp, Chief of Police,
it was moved by Cordingly, seconded by Thatcher, that A.E.
Uppers request for license for two c,trd tables be g,anted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Communication from the League of Municipalities of
San Diego County regarding dues for 1934. Matter referred
to City Clerk.

OCommunication from the Pacific Indemnity Co. regarding bids
on automocile public liability:and property damage insurance.
Read and ordered filed.
Matter of estimate in locating corners on 10th St. in
the W2 of NE* of * Section 106, referred to Street Dept.
Mayor Bird requested that the Dept. Heads report on
expenditures i.e. salaries and incidentals, to date; said
report to be made the next regular meeting.
Chief Bird brought up matter of Ordinance..relatingto
the running over the firehose while in use and punishment
of offenders. Chief Bird instructed to obtain copy from San
Diego of Ordinance governing such• -matters.
City Clerk instructed to obtain copy of Ordinance of
the City of Chula Vista governing the re -surfacing of streets
by the Street Dept. if left in bad condition by Water Co. or
plumbers after work had been done in same streets --the Water
Co. or plumbers being held liable for expense incurred.
Moved by Cordlingly:; seconded by Warner, that the
Council adjourn. Carried.
