Councilmen present, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Minutes of the regular meeting of Sept. 4, 1934, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Mr. Chas. Stein was present requesting the Council to have a sidewalk put in on West 9th Street. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the City Clerk be instructed to write to the property owner and request that the sidewalk be put in. Carried. Mr. Stein also made a complaint about the conditions of the side- walks on National Avenue, North of Fourth Street. Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease, that the situation be referred to the Sheet Dept. Carried. Mr. Stein stated that he has a grievance against the Street Dept. for assisting the High School on the SERA work with a tractor and equipment. Idr. Stein said the Street Dept. was taking work away from private contractors. DCommunication from the War Dept. regarding dredging San Diego Bay, was read and ordered filed. Communication from League of California Municipalities regarding exhibits at the convention at Pasadena, was read and ordered filed. Communication from Sunset Pacific Oil Co. regarding extension of permit was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Clerk be instructed to communicate with the Sunset Pacific 169. Oil Co. and extend the lease for 5 years at $,40.00 per month. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. ° RESOLUTION NO. 1754, authorizing payment of Bonds and interest Coupons to the amount of $5,140.00 from Sinking Fund No. 4, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved ba Kilcrease, seconded by `_hatcher, that the insurance policy on the Library presented by L. E. Spicer be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Cordingly, that the Councilmen attending the convention of the League of California Municipalities at Pasadena, do so at their own expense. Carried, all councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Warner, seconded by Kilcrease, that the proper Officers be authorized to make the following transfers: $520.24 from Special Del. Tax Fund to Police Fund 550.32 from Special Del. Tax Fund to General Fund Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Kilcrease, seconded by Thatcher, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to signs Warrant in favor of Asa R. Webb, City Treasurer, to be deposited in the General Fund, for the sum of $500.00. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Warner, that the proper Officers be authorized to transfer $500.00 from the General Fund to the Library Fund. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Report from Dale Smith, City Clerk, regarding the findinLs on the petition for annexation, was presented. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the report be accepted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. names °RESOLUTION NO. 1755, declaring insufficient/on petition for annexation, was presented. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Kilcrease, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote to wit: Ayes: Councilmen, Cordingly, Kilcrease, Thatcher, Warner, Bird. Nays, Councilmen, none. Absent, Councilmen, none. Mr. D. L. Murray was present regarding a crossing over the A. T. S. F. Railroad right of way at First Street and Cleveland Avenue, 170. to be installed by the City. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Warner, that the City have plans and specifications drawn and forwarded to the State Railroad Commission for permission to install said crossing. oCarried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
