Councilmen Wade, and Pettit absent. Minutes of regular meeting of December 5, 1933, read and approved. "Mr. Harry Garber was present regarding Water Hearing. °MPa.James reported for Chamber of Commerce on new City Hall, also reported for the following organizations: P. T. A., Men's Club, Olivewood Club, 20-30 Club, and Kiwanis Club. Mr. James stated a special election is recommended. 110. °Communication from War Department regarding Harbor Dredging, read and ordered filed. °Communication from Stickney & Stickney, regarding automobile accident on Palm Avenue, read and ordered filed. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the matter be referred to the City Attorney. Carried. °Communication from District Engineer, Division of Highways, acknowledging receipt of project statements, read and ordered filed. °Petition of citizens to have Grove Street from-24th Street to 18th Street, widened and graded under the C. W. A, was read. Moved i by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the matter be referred/to City Engineer. Carried. °Communication from Lee Jung for New Asia Cafe, regarding re- fund of $30.00 on beverage License, read and referred to City Attorney. °Communication from A. F. Blankenburg, regarding refund of $4.17, an error on personal property assessment, was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the refund be allowed. Carried. Matter of Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance was taken up. Moved by Thatcher, seconded'by Waddell, that the policies submitted by H. P. Scheuerman and Guy & Guy, be turned over to the City Attorney for inspection as to form and financial responsibility. Carried. Matter of insurance on equipment in City Hall was taken up. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that an additional $700.00 -be added for Office Equipment in policy covering City Hall. Carried. °ORDINANCE NO. 631, amending Ordinance No. 628, relating to Sewers was placed on final passage. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the Ordinance be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. °ORDINANCE NO. , amending Ordinance No. 608, Adopting the Building Code, was introduced and laid over, under the rules and according to law. Carried. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the ,City Clerk be instructed to inform Clara Banke Lightfoot as to the findings of the Deputy Assessor in checking personal property. Carried. The -following protests were presented to the Cbuncil: Forest M. Raymond, Mr. & Mrs. E. J. Arthur, Anna G. & George Alien, and Josephine Kirby, on the closing of Alley in Kimball's Shb. °RESOLUTION NO. 1726, fixing time for hearing protests on closing of Alley in Kimball's Sub. at the hour of eight o'clock P. M. on the 2nd day of January, 1984, was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the following C. W. A. projects be approved: Planting trees on National Avenue, Highland Avenue, 18th Street, and 24th Street. Providing drainage on 14th Street between National Avenue and "A" Avenue, and on 16th Street between National Avenue and "A" Avenue. Providing drainage along San Diego and Arizona Railway tracks from 2nd Street to 12th Street. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
