Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by
the Mayor.
Requa.
Moved by Waddell, seonded by Thatcher, that the Council
adopt the following Resolution to the memory of Johnson W. Puterbaugh.
RESOLUTION NO. 1692.
BE 121 RESuLVED, by the City Council of the City of National
City, California, as follows:
That u)hereas God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to
remove from us one of our loyal and faithful citizens and a man
of sincere integrity and rare ability, his absence will be keenly
felt by those who came in close touch with him.
We extend to his beloved and faithful wife and his son
our sincere sympathy in their great loss.
We direct that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes and
a copy thereof sent to Mrs. Puterbaugh.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Iinutes of regular meeting of January 3, 1933, read and
Councilmen Present, Pettit, Thatcher, Waddell, Wade and
approved.

e Communication from San Diego Building & Loan Association re-
garding penalties on delinquent taxes on Lots 8, 9 and 10, Block
15, Plat, was read. Mayor Roque also brought up matter of penalties
on Lots I and J, Block 4, Lincoln Acres Orchard Sub., a Section
107 and 128, Nat'l Ro. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Wade, that
the penalties and cancellation fees on this property be waived if
paid by Feb. 1, 1933. Carried, all Councilmenpresent voting aye.
o Communication from Senator William E. Harper regarding
procedure in Senate read and ordered filed.
o Communication from Los Angeles County League of Municipalities
regarding gasoline tax legislation was read. Moved by Waddell,
seconded by Pettit, the Council recomend the gasoline tax be pro-
portioned to State, Counties and Municipalities and that:the City
Clerk be instructed to notify Senator Harper and Assemblyman Stream
to that effect. Carried.
°It now being the time set for hearing in the matter of the
proposed Zoning Ordinance, same was taken up. There were no protests
and the further hearing of said matter was catinued to February 7,
1933 at 7:30 O'clock P. M.
'Mayor Doan and Attorney Ludwig of Chula Vista were present
regarding water rates. Suggested the Council authorize a formal
complaint to the Railroad Commission.
o Communication from League of California Municipalities
regarding Gasoline Tax allocation read and ordered filed.
o Applications of Oswald C. Ludwig, Jasper J. Barrett,
Y. A. Jacques, J. K. Wilson, A. A. Amos and J. C. Hizar for position
of City Attorney were read and ordered filed.
°Moved by Waddell, Seconded by Pettit, that Mr. J. A. Isaacson
be appointed City Attorney, at a salary of $112.50 per month to
start Februaryl, 1933. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°Report of City Clerk for quarter ending December 31, 1932 pre-
sented and ordered filed.
°Report of City Treasurer for quarter ending December 31, 1932
presented and ordered filed.
°Matter of Sewer Laterals laid over till next meeting.

be appointed Special Police Officer to serve without conpensation.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
° RESOLUTION NO. 1693, confirming the appointment of Irene G.
Wissink as Deputy City Treasurer and appointing her Deputy City
Clerk was read. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher: that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.

Mayor Requa reported matter of water pipes on Van Ness Avenue.
