Moved by Wade, seconded by Thatcher that the matter be referred to Police Dept. Carried. °Communication from Edna W. Snook, Member of Board of Directors of Casa De Salud, regarding appointment of Mayor Requa as member of Board of Directors was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher that Mayor Requa be so appointed. Carried. Communication from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. regarding beer license fee, read and referred to City Attorney for reply. 'Communication from Hause, Hunt & Schwartz regarding reductions 10• in rates for consumers of San Diego Cons. Gas & Electric Co. read and ordered filed. °Communication from Engineer's Advisory Board Reconstruction Finance Corp. enclosing copy National Industrial Recovery Act, read and ordered filed. °Communication from League of California Municipalities regarding National Industrial Recovery Act, read and ordered filed. °Communication froi.1 James Hervey Johnson regarding valuation of lands belonging to Sweetwater Water Corp. read and ordered filed. °Communication from Pacific Coast Bldg. Officals Conferende, requesting representative to participate in meeting, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wade that the matter be laid over until next meeting. °Communication from League of California Municipalities re- garding convention to be held in September, read and ordered filed. °Communication from League of California Municipalities re- garding Gasoline Tax Revenue was read. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher that the communication be filed. Carried. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit that the matter be referred to the Street Dept. Carried. °Quarterly report of City Treasurer presented and ordered filed. 'Quarterly report of City Clerk presented and ordered filed. 'Annual report of City Clerk presented and ordered filed. 'Copy of Annual Report to the State Controller, by City Clerk, presented and ordered filed. °ORDSNANCE NO. regulating the installation of Sewer Laterals laid over until next meeting. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Pettit that the matter by referred back to City Engineer. Carried. °Matter of League of California Municipalities communication relative to Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, again laid over until next meeting. - °Communication from Asa R. Webb, City Treasurer recommending the appointment fof Harold Requa Jr. as Deputy City Treasurer was read. Moved by Wade, seconded by Waddell that the recommendation be accepted. Carried. 79. °RESOLUTION NO. 1714, appointing Harold Requa Jr., Deputy City Treasurer was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote: ayes, Councilmen Pettit, Thatcher, Wade and Waddell. Councilman Requa not voting. °Councilman Pettit was excused. °RESOLUTION NO. 1715, confirming proposed assessments made and filed by City Engineer on Lighting District No. 1 was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote: ayes, Councilmen Thatcher, Wade, Waddell and Requa. Councilman Pettit absent. °RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT NO. 1716, National City Lighting District No. 1 was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote: ayes, Councilmen Thatcher, Wade, Waddell and Requa. Councilman Pettit absent. °RESOLUTION NO. 1717 directing notice inviting sealed proposals on National City Lighting District No. 1, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wade that the Resolution be adopted. Carried by the following vote: ayes, Councilmen Thatcher, Wade, Waddell and Requa. Councilman Pettit absent. °City Clerk presented request for authorization to purchase an 18" carriage typewriter, total cost not to exceed $207.50 on terms of ten months. Moved by Wade, seconded by Waddell that the request be granted. Carried by the following vote: ayes, Councilmen Thatcher, Wade, Waddell, and Requa. Councilman Pettit absent. °Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wade that the proper Officers be authorized to transfer from the General Fund to Fire Fund $320.00. Carried. °Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade that the proper Officers be authorized to transfer from General Fund to Police Fund $200.00. Carried. °Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher that the proper Officers be authorized to transfer from General Fund to Street Improvement Fund $66.90. Carried. ' °Moved by Waddell, secondted•by Thatcher that the proper Officers 80. be authorized to transfer from General Fund to Park Maint. & Imp. Fund 1200.00. Carried.
