National City, California, June 6, 1933.
Regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present, Thatcher, Wade, Waddell, and Requa. Council-
man Pettit absent.
Minutes of the regular meeting of May 16, 1933, read, approved,
as corrected: the following correction3being made, K of P Lodge
requests privilege of arragging use of Ball Park four nights a week.
Oral request of San Diego South Bay Terminal Association for lease of
all Tide Lands South of Santa Fe Holdings, presented by Councilman

Warrants ordered drawn for same. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
°Mr. R. B. Kemp was present requesting telegrams be sent to Senators
McAdoo and Johnson, also Congressman Burnham, asking support of the
Conley Amendment to the Independent Office Bill. Moved by Waddell,
seconded by Thatcher, that the City Clerk be instructed to send a
telegram to Senators McAdoo and Johnson, also Congressman Burnham,
stating that the National City City Council requests support of Conley
Ammendment to the Independent Office Bill. Carried.
'Communication from the Florists' Telegraph Delivery Association
regarding National Flower Shut In Day was read. Moved by Thatcher,
seconded by Waddeli,that the City Clerk be instructed to Write to
F. W. James & Son, advising them that the Flower Shut In Day has
Official sanction of the City Council. Carried.
°Communication from the County of San Diego regarding the cancel-
ation of delinquent taxes and penalties on property deeded to them by
k:. E. White, also Addie M. White was read and referre&to the City
Attorney.
°Communication from Susie Moore, Secretary of the National City
Public Library Board, stating the expiration of the term of Office_
date of Board Members, Mrs. Spafford and Mr. Waddell to be June 30,
1933. Moved by Wade, seconded by Thatcher, that Mrs. Spafford and Mr.
Waddell be re -appointed to succeed themselves. Carried.
°Communication from the Railroad Commission changing date of Water
Hearing from June 27, 1933 to July 18, 1933 was read and ordered
filed.
°RESOLUTION NO. 1708 ordering acceptance of deed of Frieda H. Pallas
and Gustav R. Pallas for parcel of land in Block 1, Frank P. Reed's
Subdivision was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wade, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
_°ORDINANCE NO. 626, changing names of certain Avenues was placed
on final passage and on motion by Waddell, seconded by Wade, same
adopted. All Councilmen present voting aye.
°H. Mikkelson was present stating that the K. of P. Lodge wished to
arrange for use of Ball Ground on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and
Friday nights. Moved by Wade, Seconded by Thatcher that the request
be granted. Carried.
"Mayor Requa presented request of 20-30 Club for privilege of
arranging for swimming instructor to hold morning classes at swimming

Pool for two hours daily. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade,
that the request be granted. Carried.
rReport of City Court for month of May, 1933, read and ordered
filed.
°ORDINANCE NO. , prohibiting distribution of hand bills
and advertising matter was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by
Thatcher, that the ordinance be introduced and laid over, under the
rules according to law. Carried.
'Moved by Thatcher, Seconded by Waddell, that the proper Officers
be authorized to transfer $700.00 from the General Fund to the Fire
Fund. Carried.
°Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that the proper Officers be
authorized to transfer $300.00 from the General Fund to the Police
Fund. Carried.
°Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wade, that the proper Officers be
authorized to transfer $32.59 from the Health Fund to the General
Fund. Carried.
Moved by Wade, seconded by Waddell, that the Council adjourn.
