Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the Mayor.
Councilmen present, Pettit, Thatcher, Waddell, Wade and Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting of March 7, 1933, read and approved.

Pettit, seconded by Wade, that the bills be allowed and
ordered drawn for same. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
• Mr. Bullen was present representing Mr. Pallas regarding closing
of alley in Block 1, F. P. Reed's Subdivision. Moved by Wade,
seconded by Thatcher, that the City Attorney be instructed to pre-
pare proper proceedings closing alley in Block 1, F. P. Reed's Sub-
division reserving a six foot easement for sewer or Public Utility.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°Communication from H. P. L. Beck regarding building inspection
for Joe Zimmer was read and ordered filed.
°Communication from San Diego Public Safety Committee regarding
parallel parking on National Avenue was read and laid over till next
meeting.
o Communications and Order instituting investigations on Water
Hearing, setting date for March 28, 1933 at 2:30 P. M. at the Sweet -
Water Union High School Auditorium were read and referred to the
City Attorney.
o Moved by Wade, seconded by Pettit, that the City Attorney be
authorized to appear in behalf of the City of National City at this
meeting and at all meetings held hereafter. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
'Communication from Hal. H. Hobson regarding gas tax funds read
and ordered filed.

°Communication from League of California Municipalities regarding
bills before Senate read and ordered filed.
° Recommendation of Chief of Police, L. E. Knapp regarding change
of name of Pool Hall was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by
Pettit, that Pool Hall license now issued in the name of M. 0.
Manlove be transferred to George Bader. Carried.
°Communication from City of Coronado regarding Assembly Bill
No. 1563 presented and ordered filed.
°Mbved=btnWaddellicseconded by Pettit, that the City Council
will welcome any copperation extended by the National City Kiwanis
Club relative to Public Safety.
ORDINANCE NO. 622, an Ordinance providing for the creation of
seven zones in the City of National City, 8alifornia, was placed
on final passage, and on motion by Waddell, seconded by Pettit,
same adopted by the following vote. Ayes, Councilmen Pettit, Thatcher
Waddell and Requa. No, Councilman Wade.
°ORDINANCE N0. , an Ordinance providing for licensing
certain businesses was presented. Moved by Waddell, seconded by
Wade, that the Ordinance be introduced and laid over under the
rules and according to law. Carried by the following vote, Ayes,
Councilmen, Pettit, Wade and Waddell, Noes, Councilmen Thatcher
and Requa.
°ORDINANCE NO. , an Ordinance amending Ordinance No.
538 relating to the Assessment, levy and collection of taxes
was presented. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher, that the
Ordinance be introduced and laid over under the rules and according
to law. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°RESOLUTION NO. 1700, authorizing the ¥ayor.and"CityLClerk.to
Oignc'a:.Wibrant in favor of Asa R. Webb, City Treasurer for the
amount of $2,700.00, appropriated out of Sinking Fund No. 4, was
read. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher, that the Resolution
be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°RESOLUTION N0. 1701, authorizing compromise in litigation,
case of "M. Belle Shock et al. v. CITY OF NATIONAL CITY et al.,"
was read. Moved by Wade, seconded by Waddell, that the Resolution
be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye, with the

exception of Mayor Roque who was not voting.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Pettit, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
