Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the Mayor.
Councilmen present, Pettit, Thatcher, Wade, Waddell, and Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting of May 2, 1933, read and approved.

Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit, that the bills be allowed and
Warrants ordered drawn for same. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
° Mr. H. Mikkelson was present representing the K. P. Lodge requestin(
privilege of arranging
the Lodge be given/the laseoof the Ball- Park four nights a week. Moved
by Waddell, seconded by Pettit,that the request be granted on condition
the Council approve the choice of nights. Carried.
°Mr. Lewis May present regarding valuation of property.
°Mr. Stein was present protesting against only one side -of wrecking
yard on First Avenue being walled in.
° Dr. Mann present regarding Building requirements. Moved by
Waddell, seconded by Wade, the matter be referred to the Planning
Commission. Carried.
°Communicatiorsfrom W. H. Lanagan, ando from Charles Stream were
read regarding contributions toward drectng channel.
Communications
ordered filed. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the City
Clerk be instructed to advise Mr. Lanagan thetG'ounatl is waiting
developments in the Assembly and Senate for return of funds remitted
from harbor to State Treasurer. Carried.

°Communication from the Automobile Club of Southern California
regarding installation of cross walk signs on National Avenue was
readdand ordered filed.
°Application of T. B. Gee for permission to sell beer in original
containers at 807 East 8th St., accompanied by fee of $20.00 was
read. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher, that license be
granted. Carried.
°Report of Building Inspector for month of April, 1933 read and
ordered filed.
°Matter of personal tax refund amounting to $30.79 to the American
Can Company was brought up. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell,
the refund be allowed, Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°Matter of penalties on delinquent taxes of Henry Hedderman
brought up.Noted by Wade, seonded by Waddell, that the request be
denied. Carried.
'°Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, .that the Police Dept be
authorized to enforce Ordinance licensing certain businesses. Carried.
°ORDINANCE NO. , changing the names of Certain Avenues,
was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that the Ordinance be
introduced and laid over, under the rules and according to law. Carried
bRESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1705, Lighting District No. 1, was
read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Pettit, that the Resolution
be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK N0. 1706, closing alley in Block 1
of Frank P. Reed's Subdivision was read. Moved by Wade, seconded by
Pettit, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
°RESOLUTION NO. 1707, authorizing payment of interest coupons

due May 1, 1933, for $75.00 from Sinking Fund No. 5, Moved by Waddell,
seconded by Wade, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Council.

• Mr. Waddell presented oral request of the San Diego South
Bay Terminal Association for-lease,of_:all tide land South of Santa
Fe Holdings. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that the request
be denied. Carried.

°Moved by Wade, seconded by Waddell, that the propeti:otficprs
draw a Warrant on the General Fund in favor of J. A. Isaacson for
$200.00 to cover extran compensation for Water Hearing. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.
°Communication from State Railroad Commission relative to furnishing
an appraisal of the lands of the Sweetwater Water Corporation was
presented by the City Attorney and re -referred to him.
°Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wade, that the proper officers
draw a Warrant on the Engineering Fund in favor of Fred. A. Wilkie
for $50.00 for services rendered on Water Hearing. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Pettit, that the Council adjourn.
Carried.
