National City, California, November 21, 1933.
Regular meeting of City Council called to order by the Mayor.
Councilmen present, Pettit, Thatcher, Waddell, and Requa. Council-
man Wade absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of November 7, 1933 read and approved.

Moved by H ttit, seconded by Thatcher, that the bills be
allowed and Warrants ordered drawn for same. Carried, all Council
men present voting aye.
*Communication from Secretary of National City Chamber of
Commerce regarding a new City Hall, read and ordered filed.
°Communication from League of California Municipalities regarding
Mr. Harold Pomeroy, having been appointed Field Representative to
serve -the Cities; was read and ordered filed. The City Clerk was
instructed to acknowledge receipt of same.
°Communication from War Department regarding modification of
existing -harbor lines in San Diego Bay, read and ordered filed.
°Application for Beverage License from Lee Jung read and referred
to Chief of Police for recommendation.
°Communication from Clara Banke Lightfoot, requesting refund of
personal tax, read and liid over until next meeting.
°Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher,, that the proper
installations be made at 1833 McKinley Avenue for a Police and Fire
call box. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.

° Building Ordinance again laid' over until next meeting.
°RESOLUTION N0. 1725, regarding the .1000.00 exemption for
veterans was read. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher that the
Resolution -be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°Communication from J. W. Brennan, Port director, regarding
hull of old ship was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit,
that the matter be referred to the City Attorney with power to act.
Carried.
°ORDINANCE NO. , amending Ordinance No. 538, regarding
the assessment -levy and collection of taxes was read. Moved by
Thatcher, seconded by -Waddell, that the Ordinance be introduced and
laid over, under the rules and according to law. Carried.
°City Engineer Wilkie presented a report to be mailed to
Director of Public Works, regarding i cent allocation gasoline tax
money.
°Councilman Pettit was excused.
°Water reports from the County Health Department presented and
ordered filed:
°ORDINANCE NO. 630, naming a certain Alley and Street was placed
on final passage and on motion by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher,
same -adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
°Street Supt. Aldrich reported on Federal Relief project. Ha
°Acceptance of,Fire Insurance policy on office furniture aad 11'
over until next meeting.
Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
