National City, California, October 17, 1933.
Regular meeting of City Council called to order by the Mayor.
Councilmen present, Pettit, Thatcher, Waddell, and Requa. Council-
man Wade absent.
Minutes of regular meeting of October 3, 1933, read and
approved.
The following bills audited by the majority of the Finance
Committee presented:

Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pbttit, that the bills be
allowed and Warrants ordered drawn for sar^e. Carried, all
Councilmen present voting aye.
°Communication from League of California Municipalities,
regarding public works program, read and ordered filed.
"Communication from A. A. Jerauld, regarding closing 10 foot
portion of Alley, Lot 16, R.`R. Morrison's Sub. 10 Acre Lot 5,
a Section 155, read and ordered filed.
°Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the matter be
referred to the City Attorney for preparation of Resolution of
Intention for closing same Carried.
°Report of City Treasurer for quarter ending September 30, 1933,
read and ordered filed.
"Report of City Clerk for quarter ending September 30, 1933,
read and ordered filed.

°Report from the County Health Department on water tests,
presented and ordered filed.
°Communication from Fred A. Wilkie, Secretary of Planning
Commission, regarding naming of Alley between 4th and 5th Streets,
and between National Avenue and "A" Avenue, Lantana Drive , was
read and ordered filed.
°Moved by Waddell, seconded by Pettit, that the matter be
referred to the City Attorney for preparation of an Ordinance
covering sane. Carried.
*City Attorney reported on possibility of making Sewer Permit
payment on the installment plan. Stated there was no feasible plan
by which to do this.

and Police protection in

°Moved by Thatcher, seconded by

Chief, reported on system for better Fire
Old Town. Matter laid over until next

outside the City Limits, using
his discretion as to whether the calls should be answered or not.

°Moved by Waddell, seconded by Pettit, that the suggested changes
in the Building Code be referred -to the Building Inspector, Lewis
R. Aldrich. Carried.
°Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that Lewis R.
Aldrich, Street Supt. be authorized to install a light over the
door of the City Hall. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher, that the proper Officers
be authorized to draw a Warrant on the General Fund in favor of
Hunsaker & Cosgrove, for National City's share of expenses on
application No. 6649, Southern California Water Supply Co., to the
amount of $27.45. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Pettit, seconded by Thatcher, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
