Councilmen present, Pettit, Thatcher, Waddell, and Requa. Councilman Wade absent. Minutes of the regular meeting of Aug. 15, 1933 and the adjourned meeting of Aug. 22, 1933, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. °Mr. A. M. Winter was present, regarding Ordinance covering re -roofing. °Communication from California Highway Commission, acknowledg- ing report of Street Commissioner Frank L. Wade on the proposed projects to be financed by gasoline tax ordered filed. °Application from Thos. Mahnahan for license to operate Wrecking Yard at First and Main Streets was read. Moved by money was read and 89. Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the license be granted. Carried. °Petition of A. Casas to have Pool Hall License changed to new address, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit, that the petition be granted. Carried. °Communication from Hause, Hunt & Schwartz, regarding spread of rates for gas and Light service within County of San Diego, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Waddell, that the communication be filed. Carried. Communication from California Sewerage Works Association, was read and ordered filed. °Communication from Temporary Reorganization Committee of Southern Municipalities regarding reorganization of State League, was read and ordered filed. Communication from League of California Municipalities regarding payment of dues, was read and ordered filed. 'Report of City, Court for month of' August, read and ordered filed. 'Report of Building Inspector for month of August, read and ordered filed. °The following bid for Lighting District No. 1, was opened, examined and publicly declared: SAN DIEGO CONSOLIDATED GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY Total of all lamps for one year $891.60. Moved by Pettit, seconded by Waddell, that consideration -of' -award be continued until next meeting. Carried, All Councilmen present'voting aye. °Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign a Warrant in favor of Asa R. Webb, City Treasurer, to be deposited in the General Fund, for the sum of $1,255.55. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 'Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit, that the proper Officers be authorized to transfer from the General Fund to Sinking Fund No. 4, the sum of $1,255.55. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. °RESOLUTION N0. 1719, authorizing payment of Principal and Interest Coupons to the amount of $7,700.00 in Sinking Fund No. 4 90. was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 'RESOLUTION NO. 1720, fixing the rate and levying the taxes for fiscal year 1933-1934 at $1.74 per $100.00 valuation presented. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Pettit, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. °Fire Commissioner, Frederick J. Thatcher, reported briefly on State Compensation Insurance for Volunteer Firemen. Communication from V. M.
