Councilmen present- Cordingly, Dawson, Waddell, Wade and Requa. Minutes of regular adjourned meeting of August 23, 1932, read, corrected and approved. Apinion of City Attorney Puterbaugh as to legality of registered warrants issued by the City, read and ordered filed. ,Report of the Committee of Ten, signed by H. A. Leffert, Chairman, recommends as follows: .1. That a tax rate be arranged not to exceed $1.74. .2. That following cuts in costs be made, viz: Police Department $7,000.00 Fire Department 2,862.00 Administration 900.00 Street and Engineering 2,235.00 3. That monthly budget reports from City Treasurer advising you as to whether or not each department is keeping within its budget allowance, be made. .4. Suggesting the following tentative budget: Fixed charges $.68 General Fund .07 Salary Fund .16 Street & Engineering .08 Fire Department .16 Police Department .16 Light & Water .18 Library .12 Park and kindred items .09 G$1.70 .5. We are of the opinion that the Sweetwater later Company, if properly approached, would be willing to temporarily reduce hydrant rentals or charge for fewer fire hydrants. ,6. We urge the utmost caution and economy in city adminis- tration. ,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Dawson, that the report of the Committee be accepted and Committee be continued. Carried. ,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Dawson, that the office of Street Superintendent be declared vacant Aug. 31, 1932. Motion lost. .Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that the office of City Engineer be declared vacant Aug. 31, 1932. Carried by following 16. vote: Nay, Cordingly and Dawson. Aye, Waddell, Wade and Requa. .Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that Fred A. Wilkie be employed as City Engineer, at a salary of $50.00 per month, effect- ive Sept. 1, 1932. Carried, by following vote: Nay, Cordingly and Dawson. Aye, 'Waddell, Wade and Requa. ,Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that the office of City Building Inspector be declared vacant. Carried, by following vote: Nay, Cordingly and Dawson. Aye, Waddell, Wade and Requa. ,IM':oved. by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that Lewis Aldrich be appointed Building Inspector. Carried, by the following vote: Nay, Cordingly and Dawson. Aye, Naddell, Wade and Requa. ,Moved by Dawson that the sun of 4 cents be added to proposed rate for Fire Department. No second. ,ORDINANCE NO. , An Ordinance fixing the rate and levying the taxes for fiscal year 1932-33 at $1.74, by adding 2 cents to general fund, street fixed at 6 cents, adding 2 cents to fire fund, adding 2 cents to library fund, engineering fund fixed at 2 cents, and deducting 2 cents from Park Fund, was presented. Roved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried by following vote: Nay, Cordingly. Aye, Dawson, Waddell, Wade and Requa.
