Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray,_that the bills be allowed and
warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
-Petitions of citizens requesting the City Council to stop
the operation of the dance hall at 7th Avenue and 18th Street, were
read and ordered filed.
,Attorney Harry C. Clark, representing Paul Arriola, was
present in accordance with notice authorized at regular meeting
Feb. 2, 1932. Reverend Lawyer and Reverend Brown and Mrs. Edna
Snook spoke in opposition to continuance of the dance hall. After

considerable discussion by different parties, it was moved by
Waddell, seconded by Murray, that the City Council reduce the
number of teachers or instructors from twenty to two, effective
Feb. 20, 1932, and that no permit be issued in excess of that
number. Motion was lost.
,Communication from State -County Parks and Beaches
Association of San Diego County enclosing receipt for subscription
was read and ordered filed.
ORDINANCE NO. 614, An Ordinance Regulating the installation
of gas pipes and fixtures and providing for inspection thereof,
was placed on final passage, and on motion by Waddell, seconded
by Murray, same adopted, all Councilmen present -voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1668, Authorizing payment of bonded
indebtedness due Feb. 15, 1932, amounting to 8,250.00, was read.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Waddell, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Bird, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
