Councilment present, Bird, Cordingly, Murray, Waddell and Requa. Minutes of the regular meeting January 5, 1932, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. •A reprosentative of the Metropolitan Casualty Insurance Company of New York was present asking if matter of public liability insurance could not be taken up again. Was informed the matter was closed. ,Communication from the State Highway Engineer acknowledging receipt of letter of January 7, 1932 regarding proposed secondary Highway was read and ordered filed. 240. 'Communication from the Board of Supervisors transmitting copy of Ordinance known as the "Gangsters' Registration Law," was read and referred to the Police Committee and City Attorney. -Communication from the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference regarding Active Participating membership of the City was read and ordered filed. -Communication from the National City Welfare Association requesting that the Council appoint a member to act as a member of the board of Directors of said Association was read. Moved'by Murray, seconded by Waddell that the Mayor be appointed to act as said representative. Carried. iReports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for quarter ending December 31, 1931 were presented and ordered filed. •Report of the Fire Chief for the year ending December 31, 1931 was read and ordered filed. `'ORDINANCE NO. 613, amending Ordinance No. 506 relating to and regulating plumbing was placed on final passage and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, same adopted. A11 Councilmen present voting aye. •The matter Gas Pipe Ordinance was laid over. .City Engineer reported progress on the establishment of grade of K Avenue. ,Matter of Neon sign was laid over.
