Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor.
Councilmen present- Cordingly, Dawson, Waddell, Wade and
Requa.
Minutes of regular adjourned meeting June 28, 1932,,read
and approved.

,Communication from the National City Kiwanis Club regarding
unsatisfactory conditions in the park was read and referred to the
Park Commissioner and Police Commissioner to work out some solution
to the problem.
,Communication from Katherine Kretschmer, Secretary, requesting
the appointment of two members from National City to serve on

the committee to act regarding water rates was read. Moved by
Dawson, seconded by Wade, that the Mayor appoint said committee.
Carried. He stated he would make his appointment later.
,Communication from Chief of Police requesting the appointment
of William Rooney as special police officer to serve without
compensation was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Dawson, that
the request be granted. Carried
,Report of the City Judge for the month of June, 1932 was read
and ordered filed.
,The Fire Chief reported that he had investigated the matter
of Fire Hydrant at the Kelco Plant and suggested two locations for
same. Moved by Dawson, seconded by Waddell, that the Fire Hydrant
at First Street and 8th Avenue be placed at a pointrnear the
Kelco Company plat to be decided upon by the Fire Marshall and
Superintendent of the Water Company. Carried.
,ORDINANCE NO.
, an ordinance a4opting a Plastering Code
and providing for licensing of plasterer:contractors was read.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that it be introduced and laid
over under the rules and according to law. Carried.
,RESOLUTION NO. , fixing the salaries of certain officers
and employees was laid over.
,A report from Justice of the Peace Lowell Howe showing the ,‘
volume of business done by the National Township Court from March
1, 1931 to July 1, 1932 was read.
.RESOLUTION NO. , regarding the elimination of Justice
Courts outside of the City of San Diego was taken up. Moved by
Waddell, that the Resolution be adopted and the City Clerk be
instructed to mail copy of same together with copy of report of
Justice of the Peace Howe to the Board of Freeholders. No second
to motion.
,The annual report of the Library was presented and ordered
filed.
,It now being the time set for hearing in the matter of
Assessment Roll for Lighting District No. 1, same was taken up
and concluded.

RESOLUTION NO. 1681, confirming Assessment, National City
Lighting District No. 1, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Wade, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
✓RESOLUTION NO. 1682, ordering the improvement of National
City Lighting District No. 1, was read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Dawson, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,all
Councilmen present voting aye.
,The Fire Chief submitted specifications for gasoline to be
used in calling for bids. Moved by Dawson, seconded by Waddell,
that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for the
furnishing of gasoline to the City of National City for the period
of one year according to specifications. Carried.
The Mayor appointed City Engineer, C. B. Ireland as a
member of the Committee on Legislation and the City Clerk was
instructed tO notify Senator William E. Harper.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Dawson, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
