Councilmen present- Cordingly, Dawson, Waddell, Wade and Re qua. Minutes of regular meeting June 7, 1932, read andaapproved. The following bills audited The Seagrave Corporation Ross & Ross Wilson F. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. ,Representative of Cartwright and Styalino was present requesting that the Council submit the matter of garbage collection for competi- tive bids. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Dawson that the matter be closed. Carried. .Communication from the Railroad Commission of the State of California, acknowledging receipt of Resolution No. 1678, regarding Water Rates was read and ordered filed. .Communication from the Manager of the Ford Motor Company at Long Beach, California, extending an invitation to inspect their Long Beach plant was read and ordered filed. .Communication from the Metropolitan Casualty Insurance Company regarding bond of Joe A. Eller, side -walk builder,was read. Moved by Dawson, seconded by Waddell, that the City Clerk inform them that Mr. Eller had not renewed his license, expiring the second Monday in April, 1932, and they would be relieved from any future liabilities. Carried. 272. Petition of the Kelco Company for a fire hydrant at their plant was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Dawson, that the Council go as a whole to investigate the matter. Carried. ,Petition of the Shell Oil Company for refund of $10.00 deposit -tor removal of trees was read. Moved by Wade, seconded by Dawson, that the petition be granted and the proper officers draw a Warrant on the General Fund for p10.00 in favor of the Shell 0i1 Company. Carried. ,Communication from the City Attorney, regarding prevailing wage rates was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from the patrons of R. Mikkelson, stating they were satisfied with service rendered by him in the collection of garbage, etc., and stating they did not believe a change would be proper, was read and ordered filed. .The Street Committee submittedId= $.anazIng report regarding street light at 21st Street and 7th Avenue; showing location of present lights and stating they did not think it was necessary that light should be placed at this point. Moved by Dawson, seconded by Waddell, that the report be accepted. Carried. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Wade, that the request for light at 21st Street and 7th Avenue be denied:. Carried. .The City Engineer reported Chula Vista, Coronado, and San Diego each had plasterer's license with fee of $10.00 and suggested that an ordinance be drawn licensing plasterers. Moved by Dawson, seconded by Wade that the City Attorney prepare an Ordinance licensing plasterers. Carried. .ORDINANCE NO. , amending several Ordinances, fixing the salaries of certain officers and providing for fixing the compensation of all officers and employees of said City by Resolution, was read. Moved by Dawson, seconded by Wade, that it be introduced and laid over, under the rules and according to law. Carried. 'ORDINANCE NO. , an Ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 606, known as the fire -works Ordinance, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Dawson, that it be introduced and laid over, under the rules and according to law. Carried. 273. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Dawson, that the sum of $300.00 be transferred from the General Fund to the Police Fund and the sum of $1100.00 be transferred from the General Fund to the Park Maintenance and Improvement Fund and that the proper officers make the necessary entries upon their records. Carried. ,The City Engineer submitted plans for toilets in Park at an estimate of $512.00. Moved by made, seconded by wadell,that the City build toilets back of Fire Hall at a cost not to exceed $500.00. Carried by the following vote; Ayes, Councilmen, Dawson, Waddell, Wade and Requa, Nay, Councilman Cordingly.
