Minutes oflregular meeting of September 20, 1932, Special Meeting of September 26, 1932, Adjourned Called Meeting of September 27, 1932, regular Adjourned meeting of September 28, 1932 and Special Meeting of September 29, 1932, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Ilr. H. L. Garber, president of Water Committee, was present requesting Council instruct the City Attorney to draft a formal of Sweetwater Water Corporation complaint on excessive rates/to Railroad Commission, also that a communication be sent requesting a meeting be held in the Sweet- water Union High School. Mr. Garber requested Mayor Requa to be present at a meeting to be held October 5, 1932, Mayor Requa stated he would be able to attend. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Wade, that the City Attorney be authorized to draft a written complaint to the Railroad Commission, also a letter requesting 27. C—hearing Ti8ame_„ to be held at the Sweetwater Union High School and that the Mayor be authorized to verity: same. Carried. %Communication from Wm. '.Vellpot declininE, to accept appointment on Council was read and ordered filed. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatcher, that the refusal of .Vm. wellpot to accept vacancy on City Council be approved. Carried. Communication from citizens regarding appointment of Peter Kerr as City Councilman was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from Miss. Jessie B. Carter requesting appointment as Councilwoman was read and ordered filed. .Moved by Waddell, seconded by \:'ade, that Lloyd G. Pettit be appointed Councilman to serve until the next general election. Carried. Mr. Pettit was then sworn in and took his place in the meeting. r Communication from Chief of Police regarding permit to ; -- Chas. Powell for Pool Hall was read and ordered filed. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Jiade, that the application of Chas. Powell for license to operate Pool Hall at 1804-7th Avenue be granted. Carried. , Communication from City of Monterey Park enclosing Resolution regarding allocation of gasoline tax •:gas read and referred to the City Attorney. . Contract with San Diego Consolidated Gas and Electric Company for lighting District No. 1 was presented and ordered filed. . Report of City Treasurer for quarter ending September 30, 1962, presented and ordered filed. . Report of City Judge for month of September, 1932, read and ordered filed. ,Time Report, Fire Department, month of September, 1932, read and ordered filed. Report of Building Inspector for month of September, 1932, was read and ordered filed. .Bond of Irene Viissink, Deputy Treasurer, presented and ordered returned to Bonding Company for correction. ,Matter of State Highway Program maid over to next meeting. ,Fire Chief Bird stated hydrant to be located at Kelco Company Plant was being taken care of. 28. ,Report read by Superintendent of Streets on gasoline used by various departments. Moved by Wade, seconded by Waddell, that gasoline used by Police, Fire and Street Departments be charged to each Department. Carried. .ORDINANCE DTO. , creating the Harbor Improvement Fund for City of National City, California, was read. Moved by Thatcher, seconded by Wade, that the Ordinance be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. City Attorney reported on hearing of Division of Water Resources. .Mayor Requa reported on Harbor Development Committee. Stated Mr. Murray «as instructed to go to Los Angeles and confer with the Santa Fe Land and Improvement Company regarding possibility of leasing portion of tide land. ,Moved by Waddell, seconded by Thatchor,that the City Clerk and City Attorney prepare a communication submitting proposal as out- lined. Carried. Mayor Requa appointed Mr. Pettit,Park Commissioner, also member Public Health and Morals Committee. Mr. Pettit was also made a member of the Legislative Committee of the County Leagueeof I:unicipalities. Moved by Pettit, seconded by qaadell, that the Council adjourn. Carried.
