Councilmen present- Bird, Cordingly, Waddell, and Requa. Councilman Coburn absent. Minutes of regular meeting of April 7, 1931, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 1Communication from Senator Wm. E. Harper acknowledging receipt of communication relative to the Kline Bill, No. 1882, was read and ordered 'filed. .Communication from William C. McDuffie, Receiver for Richfield Oil Company regarding contract was read and orderednfiled. Communication from the California League of Municipalities requesting support in defeating Assembly Constitutional Amendment No. 11, and Assembly Bill No. 1188, and urging support for the pass age of Senate,Bill No. 283, boas read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Waddell that the City Council request representatives from this district to oppose the passage of Assembly Constitutional Amendment No. 11, and Assembly Bill No. 1188 and to support the passage of Senate Bill No. 283. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. '172. .Petition requesting the installation of artificial lights in the City Park was read and referred to the followinc committee: Councilmen Bird, and Cordingly, and Fire Chief Bird and City Eng- ineer Ireland, and report on at the next meeting. .Communisation from the California Real Estate Association was read and ordered filed. •Report of the Fire Chief regarding insurance for Piro Engine was read. Moved by fiaddell, seconded by Bird, that the new Fire Truck be insured for $6,000.00 and the old Fire Truck for $5,000.00 with Guy and Guy as per bid. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. .The Fire Chief reported regarding Radio complaint, stating that the trouble was caused by an electric incubator but that the owner had corrected the fault in the machine. ,Bond of J. B. Fletcher, side -walk builder was presented. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly that the bond be approved accepted and ordered filed. Carried. 'Moved by Bird, seconded b', Cordingly that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the paving of L Avenue and Twenty -Fourth Street with Asphaltic Concrete pavement and Concrete. Carried. .City Attorney was instructed to prepare a Weed Ordinance. -The Committee was given further time to draft an ordinance regarding Fire Limits and Buildings. ➢rr. Pickette,of Coronado was present and urged the adoption of the Building Code, stating that Oceanside, Escondido and Coronado have already adopted same and that San Diego was about ready to do s0 RESOLUTION N0. 1631,directing the City Engineer to furnish a description of property affected and also the exterior boundaries of land to be affected for the opening of 7th Avenue from the Southerly line of 9th Streot to the Northerly line of 12th Street was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, All Councilmen preSent voting aye. 173. Moved by Bird, seconded by Waddell that the Council adjourn. Carried.
