Councilmen present- Bird, Cordingly, Murray, Waddell and Requa. Minutes of regular meeting of July 21, 1931, and of regular adjourned meeting of July 27, 1931, and of special meeting of July 30, 1931, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. .Petition of the Electrical Products Corporation to erect a Neon electric sign between the sidewalk and curb at First Street and National Avenue for Glenn's Curb Service Company, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that a permit be granted the Electrical Products Corporation to install a Neon sign at First Street and National Avenue in accordance with plans and specifica- tions on file with the City Clerk, provided that the bottom line of such sign shall not be less than ten feet above the level of the sidewalk. Carried. .Communication from Mrs. Fanny Thelon, President of the Board of Library Truetees, regarding an increased appropriation for the library, was read and ordered filed. .Communication from the Secretary of the Library Board re- questing an increased appropriation for the library, was read and ordered filed. ,Report of the City Judge for the month of July, 1931, was read and ordered filed. .Communication from Major W. E. Lanagan regarding proposed change in harbor line in San Diego harbor was read and referred to the 206. City Engineer. ,The City Clerk reported that he had received return card from Fred A. Ballin, President of Columbia Cement Corporation. vORDINr CE NO. 609, Amending Ordinance No. 506, Regulating Plumbing, was placed on final passage, and on motion by Murray, seconded by Bird, same adopted, all Councilmen present voting aye. ,The Attorney reported that he had talked with a representative of Rogan Company regarding the opening of 7th Avenue, and that they thought that the assessment for sewer construction was high, and the Attorney thought possibly by eliminating assessment for sewer on closed portion of street, that City could secure deed to 7th Avenue. The matter was referred to the City Engineer to check cost of sewer assessment and report on at next meeting. ,The weed ordinance was laid over. ,Bond of John Hansen, Sidewalk Builder, was presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. 4ESOLUTION NO. 1655, Accepting Deed of Homeland Building Company for land for street purpo3es on "I" Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the bill of the American Concrete Pipe Company for S507.03, be paid. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. The ilayor notified the Members of the Council that they would be expected to meet Monday, August loth, 1931, at 10 o'clock A. M. to sit as a Board of Equalization. Proved by Murray, seconded by Cordingly, that the Council adjourn. Carried. ATTEST: ryI )446,4 City Clerk.
