Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present- Bird, Cordingly, Murray, Waddell,
and Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting of December 1, 1931, read and
approved.

ordered drawn for the same.

,Communication from City Attorney, Johnson W. Puterbaugh
stating that Attorney J. A. Isaacson would take care of his duties
during his illness, was read and ordered filed. Mr. Isaacson was
present.
, Communication from H. P. Scheuerman submitting bid on
insurance for public liability and property damage was read. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Murray that the matter of insurance be
referred to a committee consisting of Councilmen Bird, Murray and
City Clerk Mullen, with power to act. Carried.
\ Communication from the National City Chamber of Commerce
regarding the matter of a central sign for National City and stating
that they approved Design B of the two Designs presented by Mr.
Alex Murray at the meeting of their Board of Directors, December 10,
1931, was read and ordered filed.
,Protest of property owners on K Avenue against narrowing
the street from 80 feet to 60 feet without the refinancing of the
change, of the corners by the other property owners was read and
ordered filed.
.Communication from the Department of Finance Division of
State Lands with copy of rules and regulations governing same was
read and ordered filed.
. Communication from the Railroad Commission submitting draft
of proposed general order governing the improvement of existing grade
crossings in California was read and ordered filed.
• Copy of letter of T. B. Cosgrove to the Department of Public
Works, Division of Water Resources, Sacramento, California, also
notice from the Division of Water Resources stating that the Water
Hearing had been ppostponed indefinitely was read and ordered filed.
'Petition of Charles Stein for refund of 410.00 deposit for
removal of trees was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly
that the petition be granted. Carried, all Councilmen present
voting aye.
'The matter of Neon sign.. was laid over. Plasterer's
license was laid over.
.Moved by Murray, seconded by Waddell that the plumber's
Ordinance be amended to read fixing the license at $10.00 per year
and eliminating the bond. Carried.

,Moved by Murray,seconded by Waddell that the plumberts
Ordinance be amended to govern the installation of gas. Carried.
,Bond of Phil L. Napierskie; master plumber was presented.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the bond be approved,
accepted, and ordered filed. Carried.
(RESOLUTION NO. 1667, authorizing the cancellation of
taxes on Block 83, Plat,was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
.Councilman Waddell stated that shelving was needed at the
library. The matter was referred to the Street Superintendent and
Councilman Waddell to install same.
The Street Superintendent was instructed to place four
slow signs at the intersection of 8th Street and Palm Avenue.
.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray that a car-
load of cement be purchased for use in the tennis courts. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.
'Moved by Waddell, seconded by Bird, that the sum of
$3,000.00 be transferred from the General Fund to the Street
Improvement Fund and the proper officers be instructed to make
the necessary entries on their records. Carried.
Moved by Murray;, seconded by Waddell, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
