Carried all Councilmen present voting aye. .Communication from the Rogan Corporation regarding the opening of Seventh Avenue was read and ordered filed. Mr. L. S. Chamberlain 'jas present regarding same. -Communication from the United States Fidelity and Guarantee Company regarding bond of Freeman_ Russel Hilburn, plumber,was read. Moved by bird, seconded by Murray that the Mayor be authorized to sign same releasing said Company from further liability. .Copy of resolution of the League of California ➢Unicipalities in regard to unemployment was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from the Division of Labor Statistics and Law Enforcement enclosing forms prepared to prohibit employment of aliens on public work vas read and ordered filed. .Reports of the City Treasurer and City Clerk for quarter ending September 30, 1931were read and ordered filed. 223. -ORDIN4NCE NO. 611, determining that the unsold balance of the bond issue voted at special election on December 6, 1926, of the total face value of $26,000.00 be not issued or sold, was placed on final passage, and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, same adopted, all Councilmen present voting aye. ORDINANCE NO. 612, regulating dance halls, was placed on final passage, and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, same adopted, all Councilmen present voting aye. droved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly that the City Clerk be instructed to write the grammar schools that the City would close portions of Third Avenue and Alleys in Blocks 83 and 110 when the schools were ready to start improvement. Carried. ,The City Attorney reported Water Hearing to be held November 6, 1931, at 9:00 otclock A. M. in the Chamber of Commerce Rooms, San Diego. .The City Attorney presented pamphlet regarding -Street Improvements to be filed in the City Clerkts office. •The City Attorney reported on the matter of the Eighth Street drain, stating that he believed the City would not be liable in case of damages by flood. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Waddell, that the State County Parks and Beaches Association of San Diego County be granted an appropriation of S200.00 and that the proper officers be instructed to draw i. warrant in favor of the State County Parks and Beaches Association for the sum of S2OO.0O. Carried, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Bird, Murray, Waddell and Requa. Nay, Councilman Cordingly. .Moved by hurray, seconded by Bird, that the Civic Chorus be granted an appropriation of $75.00. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. .Matter of Neon sign was laid over. Matter of plastererts license was laid over. Moved by Waddell, seconded by Cordingly, that the Council adjourn.
