Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present- Bird, Cordingly, Murray, Waddell and
Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting of September 1, 1931, read and
approved.

Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
'Communication from the Automobile Club of Southern California
regarding boulevard stop at 18th Street and D Avenue was read and
ordered filed.
The following bid for the furnishing of electric current

for National City Lighting District No. 1 was opened, examined
and publicly declared:
SAN DIEGO CONSOLIDATED GAS & ELECTRIC CO. $1036.80

• RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1661, awarding contract to
San Diego Consolidated Gas & Electric Company for furnishing
electric current for Lighting District No. 1 for year 1931-32
was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting
aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1662, Authorizing payment of bonded indebted-
ness due Sept. 15, 1931, amounting to $8,000.00, was read. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
.Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the following
transfers of funds be made: From the Pound Fund to the General
Fund $1400.00; from the Engineering Fund to the General Fund
$1700.00; from the General Fund to the Fire Fund $2200.00;
from the General Fund to the Police Fund $2800.00; from the
General Fund to the Park Maintenance & Improvement Fund $1000.00,
and that the proper officers be instructed to make the necessary
entries upon their records. Carried.
.The City Attorney was given further time regarding the
opening of 7th Avenue.
.The City Attorney reported he had received communication
from Secretary of the Railroad Commission stating that the hearing
of the San Diego Consolidated Gas & Electric Company was merely
a formal matter in order to get to operate under franchises already
granted.
. The City Attorney was granted leave of absence to attend
the State Municipal League meeting.
• The Street Committee referred the matter of drainage on E.
8th Street back to the City Council.
Moved by Murray, seconded by Waddell, that the matter be
referred to the City Attorney as to the City►s liability in case
of flood.

.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Waddell, that the
City Attorney prepare an ordinance regulating dance halls
and present it at the next meeting. Carried.
+Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Waddell, that the
City Clerk be granted leave of absence during month of October,
1931. Carried.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
