Councilmen present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Minutes of regular meeting of April 1, 1930, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. •Copy of letter to Aber & Rutherford regarding dedication of land for street purposes, written by the City Attorney, was read and ordered filed. .Petition of Balboa 0i1 Company to construct a bulk plant for petroleum products, accompanied by plans for same, approved by the Fire Chief, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the petition be granted. Carried. -Petition of Wallace Rector for permission to install gasoline tanks at the Southeast corner of 9th Street and National Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the petition be granted, work to be done under the supervision of the Fire Chief. Carried. •Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for quarter ending March 31, 1930, presented and ordered filed. 'The Street Superintendent reported that J. W. Moore was removing trees at 5th Street and I Avenue. ✓RESOLUTION NO. 1547, Ordering the closing of portion of E Avenue between 20th and 21st Streets, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. J RESOLUTION NO. 1548, Creating office of third assistant traffic policeman and deputy marshal and appointing Richard Van Deripe as such officer, was read. Moved by Murrsy, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen 71. present voting aye. .Moved by Cordin ly, seconded by Bird, that the sum of $2,000.00 be transferred from the General Fund to the Park Maintenance & Improvement Fund, and the proper officers be instructed to make the necessary entries upon their records. Carried. ,Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the City Clerk be instructed to write Mrs. Dowell of the Animal Rescue League requesting statement as to when same would be moved from its present location. RESOLUTION N0. /csq A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE GENERAL i1UNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF NATIONAL Crr'Y, CALIFORNIA, ON THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF APRIL, 1930. WHEREAS, there was held on the fourteenth day of April, 1930, a General Linnioipal Election, in the City of National City, California, and WHEREAS, the officers to be eleoted at said election sere the following, to wit: Three Councilmen, each for a term of four years. AND WHEREAS, the returns of said Election have all been received and the City Council of .the City of National City, California, is at this time, tottlt: on this 21st day of April, 1930, duly convened, pursuant to law, for the purpose of canvassing said returns and installing the newly elected officers of said City, and has at this time publicly opened and canvassed said returns and ascertained the result of said election, end WHEREAS, from such ce1vas8 Of said returns, it appears that the result of said election is as in the following resolution and order of said Council stated: NOW THEREFORE, it is by the City Council of the said City of Rational City, California, hereby rosolved and ordorod, as follows: SECTION 1. That the result of said election is hereby ascertained and declared as follow: That in consolidated voting preeinct_A of said City, (comprising State and County election precincts numbers 1 and 9), the total number of votes oast at said election was ? � .
