Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by the
Mayor. Councilmen present- Bird, Coburn, Cordingly, Waddell,
Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting of August 5, 1930, read and
approved.
The following bills audited by the Finance Committee,

Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
•Mr. H. P. Scheuerman was present urging that a fire hydrant
be installed at 4th Street and Palm Avenue. Same was referred to
the Fire Committee to report on at next meeting.
,J. H: Kammerer was present complaining of pond at 24th Street
and National Avenue, also one at 30th Street and National Avenue.
Same was referred to the Health Committee.
.Petition of P. A. Knapp to remove three trees in front of
property at 3rd Street and National Avenue was read and the City
Clerk was instructed to write him that a deposit of $5.00 for each
tree to be removed was required, also that he would be required to

replace trees removed.
.Communication from Chemical Equipment Corporation regarding
payment on equipment instal led in the swimming pool, was read
and referred to the City Attorney.
,The matter of closing the Alley requested by L. E. Spicer,which
was referred to the Planning Commission, was laid over to the next
meeting.
ORDINANCE NO. , Amending Section 1 of Ordinance No.
597, entitled "An Ordinance Providing for Boulevard Stops", was
laid over.
.The matter of the audit was taken up. Moved by Waddell,
that Victor J. OtConnorts bid for auditing books be accepted.
Motion received no second. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird,
that all bids received for auditing be rejected. Carried.
,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City Clerk
be instructed to advertise for bids for audit of city books.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
.Frank Constantino was present requesting free license to
peddle fruit and vegetables. Request was denied.
(RESOLUTION NO. 1588, Directing Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals
for National City Lighting District No. 1, was read. Moved by
Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1589, Authorizing payment of bonded indebted-
ness due August 15, 1930, amounting to 03,375.00, was read.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
ORDINANCE NO.
, An Ordinance Fixing the Tax Rate
and Levying the Taxes for the fiscal year 1930-1931, at 14.93,
was read. Moved by Coburn, seconded by Waddell, that it be
introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law.
Carried.
,Councilman Bird was excused.
.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the following
transfers be made: From the General Fund to the Police Fund,

$2,000.00; From the General Fund to the Park Maintenance & Improvement
Fund, $$2,000.00, and that the proper officers be instructed to make
the necessary entries upon their records. Carried.
Moved by Coburn, seconded by Cordingly, that Margaret Bencini,
Deputy City Clerk, be granted a four weeks! leave of absence in
addition to two weeks! vacation, time to be fixed by the City Clerk.
Carried.
Moved by Waddell, seconded by Cordingly, that the Council
adjourn. Carried.
