Councilmen present- Bird, Cordingly,Waddell and Requa. Councilman Coburn absent. Minutes of regular meeting of June 17, 1930 and of regular adjourned meeting of June 23, 1930, read and approved. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. .Major Macauley of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce presented a letter requesting remission of penalties for 1927, 1928 and 1929 taxes due on the San Diego Chamber of Commerce Industrial Lands. Same was referred to the City Attorney. .Lewis May was present showing rock he claimed had been thrown on his house at two o&clock A. M. Same was referred to the Police Department. 91. .Application of W. E. Hardenburg for position as City Attorney was read and ordered filed. .Communication from E. G. Tarr regarding the renting of his property at 614 National Avenue, was read and ordered filed. •Communication from the Field Engineer of the Automobile Club of Southern California regarding flasher signs, was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from C. A. Pope requesting permission to remove tree at 2030 Highland Avenue in front of driveway to service station, was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from Pauline Mac Rae requesting permission to remove one tree at 1441 Highland Avenue, was read and ordered filed. .Communication from the Planning Commission recommending the adoption of the 1930 edition of the Uniform Building Code, was read and laid over to the next meeting. .Petition of property owners for street lights on Division Street was read and referred to the Street Committee. -Petition of property owners requesting the installation of fire hydrant at East 8th Street and R Avenue was read and referred to the Fire Committee. /_The Street Superintendent reported that the trees removed by J. W. Moore were satisfactory and recommended refund of deposit. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the proper officers draw a warrant on the General Fund in favor of J. W. Moore for $40.00, refund of deposit for removal of trees. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Waddell, that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for a general audit. Carried. CORDINANCE NO. 601, Repealing Ordinance No. 555 and Amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 540, Fixing salary of Fire Marshal payable on the 1st and 15th days of each month was placed on final passage, and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, sane adopted, all Councilmen present voting aye. -ORDINANCE NO. 602, Amending Section 10 of Ordinance No. 540, Fixing salary of City Marshal payable on the 1st and 15th days of each month was placed on final passage, and on motion by Bird, 92. seconded by Cordingly, same adopted, all Councilmen present voting aye. ,Report of the Recorder for month of June, 1930, reads and ordered filed. 'Communication from B. J. Scott regarding equipment for swimming pool was read and ordered filed. 'Bids for swimming pool equipment were laid over. •ORDINANCE NO. , Ab Ordinance Repealing Ordinance No. 574 and Amending Section 7 of Ordinance No. 540, fixing salary of City Attorney at $125.00 per month, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried.
