Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by
the Mayor. Councilmen present_ Bird, Coburn, Cordihgly, Waddell,
Roque.
Minutes of regular meeting of May 20, 1930 and of regular
adjourned meeting of May 23,1930, read and approved.

seconded by Bird, that the bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
Recorder Edgerton was present and requested that an audit
of his books be made and also that new quarters be found for the
court. The question of the audit was referred to the Finance
83.
Committee and new quarters for the court to the Police Committee
to report on at next meeting.
.Mr. Chas. Powell stated that there was a telephone pole
at 18th Street and Highland Avenue in the way of approach to
the service station and stated that the Telephone Company refused
to move same. Moved by Bird, seconded by Coburn, that the City
Council request the Telephone Company to move pole at the south-
west corner of 18th Street and Highland Avenue in front of prop-
erty of Chas. Powell, through the City Attorney. Carried.
. Mrs. Saltus representing the Animal Rescue League was
present and stated that the dogs would be moved within ten days.
rCommunication from Library Board requesting the re -appointment
of Mrs. Spofford and Mr. Waddell as members of the Board, was read.
Moved by Coburn, seconded by Waddell, that Mrs. Sara M. Spofford
and Mr. James B. Waddell be re -appointed members of the Library
Board. Carried.
.Communication from employees of the Police and Fire Depart.
ments requesting that they be paid semi-monthly, was read. Moved
by Bird, seconded by Waddell, that the City Attorney be instructed
to make the necessary changes in Ordinances and Resolution, mak-
ing the salary of the Fire and Police Department employees payable
on the 1st and 15th of each month. Carried.
. Report of the Recorder for month of May 1930 was read
and ordered filed.
. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the Superintendent
of Streets be instructed to place cement floor in the engine
room at the swimming pool at a cost not to exceed $300.00. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.
. Moved by Bird, seconded by Coburn, that the City Engineer
and City Attorney be instructed to prepare plans and specifications
for Sewer west of National Avenue and South of Division Street.
Carried.
-RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1557 for National City Lighting
District No. 1 for year 1930-31, was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,

;RESOLUTION NO. 1558, Granting Nelson & Sloan extension
of sixty days time for completion of grading and other improvement
of portions of 17th Street and B Avenue, was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
✓RESOLUTION NO. 1559, Granting Nelson & Sloan extendion
of sixty days time for completion of grading portions of Palm
Avenue, Fairmount Avenue and Division Street, was read. Moved
by
Bird, seconded by Coburn, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Councilmen present voting aye.
