Regular meeting of the City Council called to order by
the Mayor. Councilmen present- Bird, Coburn, Cordingly, Waddell,
Requa.
Minutes of regular meeting of June 3, 1930, read and approved.

Cordingly, that the bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
.Hyman Zizkind was present asking for a free license to
peddle notions. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the
request be denied. Carried.
.Communication from Howard Wells requesting that the grade
be established in Wilbur's Addition, was read and laid over.
.Communication from W. D. Gardner, Chief of Police, recommending
appointing of Chauncey A. Noble traffic officer at a salary of
$200.00 per month and Ira F. Harbison and Robt. A. Preston patrolmen
at a salary of $125.00 each per month, was read and laid over.
.It now being the time set for hearing appeals in the matter
of Assessment No. 64 for the grading and other improvement of

17th Street and B Avenue, same was taken up and concluded.
.RESOLUTION NO. 1562, Approving and confirming Assessment
No. 64 for the grading and other improvement of 17th Street and
B Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that
the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting
aye.
,Communication from the City Attorney, Ray M. Harris, tendering
resignation, effective July 1, 1930, was read. Moved by Coburn,
seconded by Waddell, that the resignation be accepted. Carried.
.The following bids for the installation of machinery, etc.
inthe swimming pool, were opened, examined and publicly declared
and referred to the City Engineer and Finance Committee to report
on at an adjourned meeting next week:

deposit for removal of trees was read and referred to
Superintendent to report on at next meeting.

deposit for removal of tree was read. Moved by Bird,
by Coburn, that the proper officers draw a warrant on
,Fund in favor of H. P. Requa for $5.00. Carried, all
present voting aye.

•The matter of auditing books was referred to the Finance
Committee.
;RESOLUTION NO. 1563, Appointing Deputy fire marshal and
a Fireman and fixing their salary payable on the 1st and 15th
days of each month and repealing Resolution No. 1232, was read.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1564, Appointing Harry T. McCue Deputy
Marshal and fixing salary payable on the let and 15th days of
each month and repealing Resolution No. 1075, was read. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
',RESOLUTION NO. 1565, Creating offices of traffic policemen
and deputy marshals and assistants and fixing salary payable on
the 1st and 15th days of each month and repealing Resolution No.
1556, was read. Moved by Coburn, seconded by Bird, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
•ORDINANCE NO. , Repealing Ordinance No. 555 and Amending
Section 1 of Ordinance No. 548, fixing salary of Fire Marshal
payable on the lat and 15th of eadh month, was read. Moved by
Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that it be introduced and laid over
under the rules and according to law. Carried.
•ORDINANCE NO. , An Ordinance Amending Section 10
of Ordinance No. 540, fixing salary of City Marshal payable on
the 1st and 15th days of each month, was read. Moved by Cord-
ingly, seconded by Bird, that it be introduced and laid over
under the rules and according to law. Carried.
✓RESOLUTION NO. 1566, Authorizing payment of salary of
Deputy City Clerk and Deputy City Treasurer and Tax Collector
on the 1st day of each calendar month, was read. Moved by
Cordingly, seconded by Waddell, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Councilmen present -voting aye.
;RESOLUTION NO. 1567, Appointing time and place for hearing
protests and directing the city clerk to give notice_of said
hearing for National City Lighting District No. 1 was read.

adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
.RESOLUTION NO. 1568, Directing the City Engineer to
prepare plans and specifications for the improvement of L
Avenue and 24th Street, was read. Moved by Waddell, seconded
by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
'RESOLUTION NO. 1569, Approving and adopting plans and
specifications for the improvement of L Avenue and 24th Street,
was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Reso-
lution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
.Estimate of quantities of the City Engineer for the improve-
ment of L Avenue and 24th Street, was read and ordered filed.
?RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1570 for the improvement of
L Avenue and 24th Street, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded
by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen
present voting aye.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the Council
adjourn to Monday, June 23, 1930, at 2:00 o'clock Y. M.
Carried.
