Councilmen present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Minutes of regular meeting of February l8, 1930, read and approved. Carried, all Council- men present voting aye. • Mrs. Cecelia Graham was present complaining of traffic conditions at 2nd Street and National Avenue. Same was referred to the Police Department. .Mr. Fred Erb was present requesting the adoption of a seven hour work day. • Mr. Crowell D. Eddy was present stating that the Chamber of Commerce was ready to co-operate with the Council regarding harbor development. .Communication from the Railroad Commission regarding hearing to be held at Los Angeles March 11, 1930, regarding the application of the United States Long Distance Telephone Company, et•al, asking permission to sell their property to the Southern California Telephone Company, was read and ordered filed. .Report of the Recorder for month of February, 1930, read and ordered filed. Bond of Ray Lake, Sidewalk Builder, presented. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. . Bonds of W. G. Willis, Alvah R. Bell and J. H. Morton, Master Plumbers, presented. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the Bonds be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. .RESOLUTION NO. 1533, Rescinding and repealing Resolution of Intention No. 1504 and abandoning the proceedings for the widening of L Avenue between 24th and 26th Streets, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. (RESOLUTION NO. 1534, Accepting Deed of J. W. & Louise J. 63. Trout and Ethel H. Lossius for land for street purposes on L Avenue, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO, 1535, Accepting Deed of Harry F. Mason and Wife for land for street purposes on L Avenue, was read. Moved by'Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. RESOLUTION N0. 1536, Accepting Subordination Agreement executed by Paul G. Schutte,Hugo Sdhutte and Elizabeth Schutte, subordinating mortgage made by Harry F. Mason and Wife, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. -.RESOLUTION N0, 1537, Accepting Subordination Agreement executed by S. Hillkowitz, subordinating mortgage made by Harry F. Mason and wife, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. '.RESOLUTION N0. 1538, Calling General Municipal Election to be held April 14, 1930, to elect three members of the City Council, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present vot- ing aye. /RESOLUTION N0. 1539, Appointing P. T. Mizony Deputy Assessor was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Reso- lution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the City Attorney prepare an ordinance providing license for peddling pastry and bread stuff, with fee of $25.00 per quarter.
