Councilmen present- Bird, Coburn, Cordingly, Waddell, Requa. Minutes of regular meeting of May 6, 1930, read and approved. Clark Park Labor 60.00 Moved by Total $1453.12 Bird, seconded by Waddell, that the bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 'Mr. F. A. Crandall was present asking if some action could not be taken towards abating the nuisance at loth Street and Highland Avenue maintained by the Animal Rescue -League. ,Communication from Dr. Theo. F. Johnson asking that immediate action be taken to abate the nuisance at the corner of loth Street and Highland Avenue, was read and ordered filed. (RESOLUTION NO. 1551 regarding the abatement of the nuisance created by the Animal Rescue League, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 79. • Communication from Sunset Pacific 011 Company and E. Thelon requesting that the bill -board adjoining lots 20 to 22, Block 64, be removed, was read and referred to the Street Committee with power to act. 'Communication from Mr. E. Thelon requesting that the Alleys between 1st and Division Streets be named, was read and referred to the City Attorney. •Petition of Nelson & Sloan for extension of time to complete work on 17th Street and 8 Avenue, also on Palm Avenue, Fairmount Avenue and Division Street, was read and referred to the City Attorney. •The matter of closing E Avenue between 16th and 18th Streets was laid over. • The Fire Committee recommended that a fire hydrant be installed at 27th Street and DAvenue. Moved by Coburn, seconded by Bird, that a fire hydrant be installed at 27th Street and D Avenue, and that the Sweetwater Water Corporation be requested to replace the one now at 8th Street and National Avenue with a six inch hydrant, the one to be removed to be placed at 27th - Street and D Avenue. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 'The Police Committee recommended that the communication of L. A. Weisser preferring charges against Recorder Edgerton be filed. .Estithate of City Engineer of work completed by Daley Corporation, assignee of Butterfield Construction Company, for paving portions of D Avenue, 16th Street and L Avenue, and accep- tance of same by Street Superintendent, was read and ordered filed. /RESOLUTION NO. 1552, Authorizing payment of 75% of work completed by Daley Corporation in paving portions of D Avenue, 16th Street and L Avenue, amounting to $8,644.40, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. ' RESOLUTION NO. 1553, Authorizing cancellation of receipt of Elmer A. Woodward for 1929 tax on Lot 21, Block 118, Plat, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Coburn, that the Resolution 80. be adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye. 'The matter of insurance on automobiles and motorcycles used by the Police Department was referred to the Police Department. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the sum of $1,000.00 be transferred from the General Fu*i to the Park Main- tenance & Improvement Fund and that the proper officers make the necessary entries upon their records. Carried. •The City Engineer was instructed to prepare plans and specifications for filter, machinery and equipment for swimming pool. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn, that the Council adjourn to Friday, May 23, 1930, at 5:30 otclock P.M. Carried. ATTEST: gicier
