Attorney - no second. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn that
all bids be rejected, carried. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by
Waddell that the City Attorney and L. S. Brown prepare contract and
the Mayor of the City of National City and the City Clerk enter into
a contract to audit the books of the City of National City at a contract
price of $400.00, as per specification submitted to and considered
•
by the City Council and L. S. Brown,; carried all Councilmen voting
aye.
.Protest of Robert S. Porter on condition of sidewalks on Division
Street read. Moved by Coburn, seconded by Cordingly that it be re-
ferred to Street Committeefor report with recommendation. Carr4.dd.
,Report of the City Engineer on bids for the grading and other
improvement of portions of L Avenue and 24th Street, recommending
acceptance of the bid of Charles Stein, was read and ordered filed.
;RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1592, awarding the contract to Charles
Stein for the grading and other improvement of L Avenue and 24th Street
was read. Moved by Bird, Seconded by Waddell that the RESOLUTIOII be
adopted. Carried, all Councilmen present voting aye.
.Communication from City Attorney, stating it was his opinion
that it was legal for member of City Council also to be a member
of the Library Board was read and ordered filed.
.Moved by Coburn, seconded by Bird that the fire plug at 7th Street
and Nat'l. Ave. be placed at 4th Street and Palm Ave. and a G inch fire

voting aye.
.Planning Commission requested to make a report at next meeting in to
matter of closing alley, requested by L. E. Spicer.
.Moved by Coburn, seconded by Waddell that- the Fire Chief be
authorized to purchase a filing cabinet at not to exceed $45.00, same
to be paid out of the General Fund, carrhdd-all Councilmen present
voting aye.
'RESOLUTION NO. 1593, authorizing payment of bonded indebtedness
due September 15, 1930 amounting to : 8,150.00 was read. Moved by Bird
seconded by Cordingly that the RESOLiJ'TION be adopted, carried, all
Councilmen present voting age.

.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn that the sum of $1000.00
be transferred from the Engineering Fund to the General rund, and
that the proper Officers make the necessary entries upon their records.
Carried.
'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Coburn that the sum of 61000.00
be transfered from the General Fund to the Park Ilaintenanceeandrlm-
provement Fund and that the proper Officers make the necessary entries
upon their record. Carried.
