Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the City Clerk. Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz,
Murray. Trustee Addis absent.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that Trustee
Murray act as President pro tem. Carried.
Minutes of regular meeting of April 2, 1929, read and
approved.
The following bills, audited by the Finance Committee,

Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the bills be allowed and
warrants ordered drawn for the same. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
.Several property owners on C Avenue between loth and 12th
Streets were present regarding the grade of C Avenue. Same was
referred to the City Engineer and Superintendent of Streets.
.Permit for erection and maintenance of wharf to the Sunset
Pacific Oil Company was read and referred to the City Engineer.
.Communication from National City Chamber of Commerce dated
April 4, 1929, regarding the improvement of 8th Street was read and
ordered filed.

.Communication from National City Chamber of Commerce
dated April 15, 1929, requesting that grade be established on
8th Street from 1st Avenue to the Bay, and an estimate of the
cost of grading and paving same be made, was read.
.Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the City Engineer
be instructed to establish the grade of 8th Street from 3rd Avenue
to the Bay. Carried.
• Communication from Mrs. Helen T. Curt requesting refund
of $5.00 deposit for removal of tree was read and referred to the
Superintendent of Streets.
• Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for quarter
ending March 31, 1929, presented and ordered filed.
(ORDINANCE N0. 596, Repealing Ordinance No. 560, providing
for Boulevard Stops was placed on final passage, and on motion by
Bird, seconded by Fritz, same adopted, all Trustees present voting
aye.
;ORDINANCE NO. 597, Providing for Boulevard Stops in the
City wasplaced on final passage, and on motion by Bird, seconded
by Fritz, same adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees
Bird, Cordingly, Fritz; Nay, Trustee Murray; Absent, Trustee
Addis.
.Bond of Chas. W. Hughes, Master Plumber, presented. Moved
by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Bond be approved, accepted
and ordered filed. Carried.
'Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the President of
the Board appoint a Committee to meet with the Sweetwater Baron
High School Trustees and the City Engineer regarding the improve-
ment of D Avenue. Carried.
,The President appointed the following as the Committee:
Trustees Cordingly, Bird and Fritz.
,RESOLUTION NO. 1416 OF INTENTION to close 17th Street fm m
D to F Avenues, excepting the intersection thereof with E Avenue,
and the Alley in Block 1, Morgan's Subdivision, was read. Moved
by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Board
