Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Minutes of regular meeting of August 6, 1929, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Communication from Mary Sheldon Hunt regarding condition of alley was read and referred to the Street Superintendent. .Communication from Dr. Alex M. Lesem stating he could not quarantine cancer cases was read and ordered filed. .Communication from Joseph Drechler complaining about the Santa Fe engines blowing steam on his house was read and referred to the Police Department. -Communication from A. J. Godbersen regarding condition of Prospect Street between 18th and 22nd Streets, was read and referred to the Street Department. .It now being the time set for the continuance of the hearing of protests against the improvement of portions of First Street and L Avenue, same was taken up and concluded. J.RESOLUTION NO. 1465, Sustaining protests of C. R. Linn, et al, 14. and W. A. Cooper against the proposed improvement of portions of First Street and L Avenue, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. !RESOLUTION NO. 1466, Rescinding and repealing Resolutions Nos. 1455, 1456 and 1457 and abandoning proceedings for the grading and other improvement of portions of First Street and L Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1467, Rescinding and repealing Resolution No. 1439 and abandoning proceedings for the widening of portions of L Avenue south of 18th Street, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Petition of Olof Nelson for extension of sixty days time for the completion of the improvement of llth and 12th Streets, A, B, C Avenues and Alleys, was read, and ordered filed. •RESOLUTION NO. 1468, Granting Olof Nelson an extension of sixty days time for the completion of the improvement of llth and 12th Streets, A, B, C Avenues and Alleys, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Petition of Olof Nelson for extension of sixty days time for the completion of the improvement of the Alleys in Thelen's Re - Place Subdivision, Excelsior Place, Block 1, Coombes/and portions of First Street, was read, and ordered filed. ',RESOLUTION NO. 1469, Granting Olof Nelson extension of sixty days time for the completion of the improvement of the Alleys in Thelen's Re -Subdivision, Excelsior Place, Block 1, Coombes Place and portions of First Street, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Copy of Resolution of Intention of the Board of Supervisors of San Diego County regarding the establishment of Industrial 15. Road Camp in San Diego County was read and ordered filed. •Bid of the San Diego Consolidated Gas & Electric Company for National City Lighting District No. 1 for the year ending July 31, 1930, amounting to $1195.20, was read. -RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1470, Awarding contract to San Diego Consolidated Gas & Electric Company for National City Lighting District No. 1 for year ending July 31, 1930, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Bond of Victor Tessitore, Sidewalk Builder, was presented. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. !RESOLUTION NO. 1471, Ordering the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for the grading and other improvement of First Street and L and J Avenue terminations, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION N0. 1472, Approving and adopting plans and speci- fications for the grading and other improvement of First Street and L and J Avenue terminations, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Estimate of City Engineer of quantities for the grading and other improvement of First Street and L and J Avenue terminations was read and ordered filed. '(RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1473, for the grading and other improvement of First Street and L and J Avenue terminations, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. •ORDINANCE N0. , An \Ordinance fixing the rate and levying the taxes for the fiscal year 1929-1930, at $1.95 per hundred dollars valuation, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. 16. .Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the City Clerk be instructed to purchase from the Tax Factorz, Inc. a set of maps of National City West of National Avenue at $1.50 per sheet. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .The matter of insurance was laid over. .Moved by Bird, seconded by EUrray, that the lease now presented to this Board by the San Diego Tractor & Equipment Com- pany, Inc. for the rental to the said City of National City, Calif- ornia, of one Caterpillar Tractor, one Street Grader, and other equipment for the care and maintenance of the streets in said City be and the same is hereby approved and accepted and all the members of this Board are hereby authorized and directed to immed- iately execute same on behalf of said City.
