•Mr. A. Zitnik presented Deeds for land for street purposes
on Lanoitan Avenue. Same were referred to the City Attorney.
.Communication from property owners regarding condition of
2nd Avenue from 15th to 16th Streets was read and referred to the
City Engineer and Superintendent of Streets.
•Communication from Receivers of California Eastern Oil
Company regarding franchise covering wharf site was read. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that it be laid on the table.
Carried.
,Petition of Mrs. Helen T. Curt to remove one Eucalyptus
tree at 905 E. 5th Street, accompanied by deposit of 65.00, was
read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the petition
be granted. Carried.
,Communication from Mr. E. Thelon regarding the naming of
certain Alleys was read and referred to the City Engineer.
.Report of the City Marshal for month of January, 1929,
read and ordered filed.
,Report of the Recorder for month of January, 1929, read and
ordered filed.
.Report of the Fire Department for year of 1928 read and
ordered filed.
,Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the request of
J. C. Bailey for increase in salary be denied. Carried.
.Agreements of Standard Oil Company and Shell Oil Company
to furnish gasoline were presented and laid over.

.A11 bids were referred to the City Engineer.
.The hour of eight o'clock P. M. having arrived, the
President pro tem of the Board of Trustees stated that it was
the time and place for hearing of protests against the improvement
of llth and 12th Streets, A, B, C Avenues and Alleys as shown in
Resolution of Intention No. 1375, and asked if anyone present
desired to protest against the proposed improvement. Several
owners in Block 2, W.C.Bimball's Subdivision, 10 Acre Lot 2,
Section 154, were present protesting work. The City Clerk
read protest of property owners against proposed improvement
filed Jan. 23, 1929.
.Bonds of Frank M. Tattersall, Frank M. Chase and J. E. Miller,
Master Plumbers, presented. Moved by Fritz, seconded oy Bird,
that the Bonds be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried.
'RESOLUTION NO. 1380, Accepting Deed of George M. and Louise
M. Todd for Ely # of 10 Acre Lot 6, a Section 154, was read.

adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
'RESOLUTION NO. 1381, Accepting Easement of Albert and
Enes Dalton on P Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by
Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye,
LRESOLUTION NO. 1382, Denying and overruling protest of
W. L. & E. C. Beatty, et al, against improvement of llth and 12th
Streets, A, B, CAvenues and Alleys, was read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
.Report of the City Engineer on bids for the grading of
portions of P AVENUE between 4th and 18th Streets, recommending
acceptance of bid of C. B. Grove, was read and ordered filed.
',RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1383, awarding contract to C.B.Grove
for grading portions of P AVENUE between 4th and 18th Streets,
was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution
be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,Estimate of City Engineer of work completed by Griffith
Company under contract dated Dec. 4, 1928, for paving portions of
Eighteenth Street was read and ordered filed.
RESOLUTION NO. 1384, Approving estimate of City Engineer
for paving portions of Eighteenth Street and authorizing payment
of 75%, amounting to $6,382.74, was read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1385, Accepting all of work of Griffith
Company under contract dated Dec. 4, 1928, for paving portions
of Eighteenth Street, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by
Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
,The Police Committee recommended granting pool and card
table license to Enrique Garibay at 1820 6th Avenue. Moved by
Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the petition of Enrique Garibay
for pool and card table license at 1820 6th Avenue be granted upon

recommendation of the Police Committee. Carried.
.The matter of erecting 101 highway markers was referred
to the Street and Police Departments.
,The City Attorney and City Engineer were instructed to
amend the Plumbing Ordinance.
'Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the City
Marshal, be instructed to hire a man as dog catcher not to exceed
twenty days at a salary of $4.00 per day and gasoline and oil for
his car. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn.
Carried.
