Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Murray, Addis. Minutes of regular meeting of June 18,'1929', read and approved. Carried, all Trustees -present voting aye. -Communication from the Governor's'off ice, Sacramento, re- garding roof marking for aerial navigation, was read and ordered filed. -Communication from the Secretary -Treasurer of the -League of California Municipalities regarding an organization to take care of the risk of city officials operating motor vehicles, was read and referred to the City Attorney. -Communication from Francis X. Morrow requesting refund of 2 deposit of $15.00 for removal of three trees at 5th Street and F Avenue, was read. 'Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the proper officers draw a warrant upon the General Fund in favor of Francis X. Morrow for $15.00. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. •Report of the Recorder for month of June 1929 presented and ordered filed. .Report of the City Marshal for month of June 1929 was read and ordered filed. .Report of the Planning Commission recommending that K Avenue remain an eighty foot street and requesting further time on petition for closing 21st Street, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the report be accepted and ordered filed. .Annual report of the Library for year ending June 30, 1929, was read and ordered filed. .The hour of eight o'clock P.M. having arrived, the President of the Board of Trustees stated that it was the time and place for hearing protests against the improvement of 16th Street, 18th Street and L Avenue, as shown in Resolution of Intention No. 1435, and asked if any one present desired to protest against the proposed improvement. The City Clerk read protest of William Garrick, filed July 2, 1929. %RESOLUTION NO. 1446, Denying and overruling protest of William Garrick against improvement of 16th Street, 18th Street and L Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1447, Ordering the grading and other im- provement of portions of 16th Street, 18th Street and L Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ;RESOLUTION NO. 1448, Confirming Assessment for National City Lighting District No. 1 was read. Moved by Wray, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. /RESOLUTION NO. 1449, Ordering Improvement for National City Lighting District No. 'I was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Estimate of the City Engineer of work completed by T. B. Penick & Sons for paving portions of P Avenue between 4th and 18th Streets, was read and ordered filed. RESOLUTION NO. 1450, Ordering payment of 75% of work com- pleted to date by T. B.--Penick & Sons in paving portions of P Avenue between 4th and 18th Streets, amounting to $7,576.87, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,a 11 Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1451, Accepting Deed of Fanny N. Reynolds for land for street purposes on Palm Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1452, Accepting Deed of S. Shryock, Antonio and Jessie Vici for land for street purposes on Fairmount Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'RESOLUTION NO. 1453, Accepting Deed of Mrs. Hattie J. Gardner for land for street purposes on I Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,It now being the time set for hearing appeals in the matter of Assessment No. 58 for the grading of portions of P Avenue be- tween 4th and 18th Streets, same was taken up and concluded. RESOLUTION NO. 1454, Approving and confirming Assessment No. 58 for grading portions of P Avenue beveen 4th and 18th'Streets was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Mnrray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye, !RESOLUTION NO. 1455, Ordering the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for the grading and other improvement of portions of First Street and L Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, .; 4. seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ';RESOLUTION NO. 1456, Approving and adopting plans and specifications for the grading and other improvement of portions of First Street and L Avenue, was read.
