Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Minutes of regular meeting of October 15, 1929, and of Special Meeting of October 18, 1929, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. •Mrs. Cecelia Graham was present regarding valuations for taxation. She was shown that there had been no changes made. ,Mrs. George R. Palmer was present regarding the valuation of personal property. .Petition of citizens requesting that the Animal Rescue kennels at loth Street and Highland Avenue be declared a nuisance, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Cordingly, that the City Attorney be instructed to take the matter up with the managers of the Animal Rescue League. Carried. •It now being the time set for hearing appeals in the matter of Assessment No. 60 for the improvement of the Alleys in Thelen's Re -Subdivision, Excelsior Place, Block 1, Coombes Place, and por- tions of 1st Street, same was taken up and concluded. The appeal of H. A. Leffert, et al, filed Nov. 4, 1929, was read. Communication from E. Thelen, dated Nov. 5, 1929, read and ordered filed. - 'RESOLUTION NO. 1489, Sustaining appeal and ordering a modi- fied assessment for the improvement of the Alleys in Thelen's Re - Subdivision, Excelsior Place, Block 1, Coombes Place, and portions of 1st Street, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1490, Confirming Street Superintendent's Assess- ment No. 60 for the improvement of the Alleys in Thelen's Re -subdivi- sion, Excelsior Place, Block 1, Coombes Place, and portions of 1st Street, as modified by Resolution No. 1489, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Petition of F. W. Fritzenkotter, accompanied by deposit of $45.00 to remove nine Eucalyptus trees on Grove Street between 20th and 22nd Streets, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the petition be granted. Carried. 32. .Communication from Modern Woodmen of America expressing vote of thanks for co-operation of City Trustees in making their street parade a success, was read and ordered filed. .Report of the Recorder for month of October, 1929, was read and ordered filed. .Bond of George 5. Iverson, Master Plumber, presented. Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. .RESOLUTION NO. 1491, Authorizing payment of bonded indebted- ness due Nov. 1, 1929, amounting to $1,725.00 was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. :RESOLUTION NO. 1492, Accepting Deed of Metropolitan Securities Company for land for street purposes on J Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. -Bill of T. B. Penick & Sons for removing trees on 16th, and 18th Streets and L Avenue was referred to the Superintendent of Streets for correction. ,Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the City Clerk be instructed to write Chief of the San Diego Fire Department, Lbuis Almgren, expressing the thanks of the Board of Trustees fb r use of fire boat at recent fire.
