Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Minutes ofregular meeting of September 3, 1929, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Communication from Modern Woodmen of America, uniform Rank, asking permission to close one of the lighted streets for aboutran hour at 8 o'clock P.M. Oct. 12, 1929, was read and referred to the Police Committee. -Petition of property owners for a fire ping at the inter- section of P Avenue and llth Street was read and referred to the Fire AftemmexCommittee. .Communication from the City Marshal regarding amendment to 20. the Motor Vehicle Act was read and referred to the City Attorney. ,The Finance Committee recommended that the audit of the Recorder's books be postponed until nest spring. .The Health Committee, to whom the matter of keeping chickens at loth Street and B Avenue was referred, reported that there was no evidence of a nuisance. .Petition of property owners for a fire plugs on Sanitarium Avenue was read and referred to the Fire Committee. ;RESOLUTION N0. 1475, changing the name of P Avenue to Palm Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. '(RESOLUTION NO. 1476, Directing the City Engineer to furnish diagram for the grading and other improvement of portions of'16th Street, 18th Street and L Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1477, Approving diagram of the City Engineer for the -grading and other improvement of portions of 16th Street, 18th Street and L Avenue, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye'. ,The hour of 8 o'clock P.M. having arrived, the President ' of the Board of Trustees stated that it was the time and place for hearing protests against the improvement of 1st Street and- L and J Avenue Terminations, as shown in Resolution of Intention No. 1473, and asked if anyone present desired to protest against the proposed improvement. There being none, the City Clerk stated that no written protests had been filed, and filed his certificate so stating. RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK N0. 1478, for the grading and other improvement of 1st Street, and L Avenue and J Avenue Terminations, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all,Trustees present voting aye. 21. '.RESOLUTION NO. 1479, Ordering final payment to T. B. Penick & Sons under contract dated June 12, 1929, for the paving of portions of P Avenue between 4th and 18th Streets, amounting to $2,754.97, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Bird, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Nay, Trustee Cordingly. .RRSOLUTION NO. 1480, Authorizing payment of bonded indebted- ness due Sept. 15, 1929, amounting to $8,300.00, was read. moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,a 11 Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the following transfers of funds be made: $1,750.00 from the General Fund to the Police Fund, and $1,000.00 from the General Fund to the Light & Water Fund, and that the proper officers make the necessary entries upon their records. Carried. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that Richard Van Deripe be employed as extra man for the Police Department and furnish hiw own motorcycle, gasoline, etc., at a salary of-$6.00 per day, beginning Sept. 18, 1929. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn.
