Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly, Fritz and Murray. Minutes of regular meeting of March 20, 1928, read and approved. J.RESOLUTION NO. 1250, Granting permission to the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Diego to assume full jurisdic- tion for the improvement of National Avenue between Division and 1st Streets was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Petition of Merchants requesting changes in Ordinances Nos. 578 and 583 was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the City Attorney be instructed to amend Section 10 of Ordinance No. 578 and Section 2 of Ordinance No. 583 by elimina- ting the inspection fee. Carried. .It now being the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., the time set for hearing of protests against the work of paving and other improvement of Streets, Alleys and Avenues North of 10th Street and East of First Avenue, the City Clerk stated that no protests had been filed. ,Communication from the Paradise Valley Sanitarium regarding the installation of pump and pipe line to pump sewage into the 8th Street sewer line was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Paradise Valley Sanitarium be given permission to install pump and pipe line to connect with the 8th Street sewer line, work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and Superintendent of Streets. Carried. Communication from the State Compensation Insurance Fund regarding injuries to Firemen was read and ordered filed. .Communication from Myrtle Adams regarding sidewalks on East 2nd Street was read and ordered filed. ,Communication from S.H.Rather stating that stumps of trees in front of his property on East l6th Street had been removed, was read and ordered filed. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the proper officers draw a warrant in favor of S.H.Rather for $40.00, being refund of deposit for removal of trees. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 172. LApplication of Thomas J. Stevens for position as Traffic Officer was read and ordered filed. .Communication from the Planning Commission regarding the planting of trees was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the recommendation of the Planning Commission be accepted and ordered filed. .Reports of the City Clerk and City Treasurer for quarter ending March 31, 1928, presented and ordered filed. •Report of the Recorder for month of March, 1928, showing fines collected amounting to $696.00 was read and ordered filed. •Trustee Cordingly recommended that the toilets in the park be removed. ',RESOLUTION NO. 1251, Ordering the work of paving and other improvement of Streets,Avenues and Alleys North of 10th Street and East of 1st Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. l.RESOLUTION NO. 1252, Directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for sale of $87,000.00 worth face value of paving bonds was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the Reso- lution be adopted. Carried,a 11 Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1253, Ordering the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for the construction of sidewalks on 2nd Street between Highland Avenue and Laurel Avenue, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ;RESOLUTION NO. 1254, Approving specifications for the construction between Highland Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Estimate ofquantities for the construction of sidewalks on 2nd Street between Highland Avenue and Laurel Avenue was read and ordered filed. and adopting of sidewalks the plans and on 2nd Street Avenue and Laurel Avenue, was read. Moved by 173. ;RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1255, for the construction of sidewalks on 2nd Street between Highland Avenue and Laurel Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .The Street Superintendent reported that material for the repair of the wharf would cost from $135.00 to $150.00, not including piling. ATTEST: °4i'Cler : RESOLUTION NO. 1256 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE GENERAL LMUNICIPAL ELECTION HRT1D IN THE CITY OF NATIONAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, ON THE NINTH DAY OF APRIL, 1928. WHEREAS, there was held on the ninth day of April, 1928, a General Municipal Election, in the City of National City, California, and WHEREAS, the officers to be elected at said election were the following, to -wit: Two Trustees, each for a term of four years. A City Clerk, for a term of four years. A City Treasurer, for a term of four years. AND WHEREAS, the returns of said Election have all been received and the Board of Trustees of the City of National City, California, is at this time, to -wit: on this 16th day of April, 1928, duly convened, pursuant to law for the purpose of canvassing said returns and installing the newarelected officers of said City, and has at this time publicly opened and canvassed said returns and ascertained the result of said election, and WHEREAS, from such canvass of said returns, it appears that the result of said election is as in the following resolution and order of said Board stated: NOW THEREFORE, it is by the Board of Trustees of the said City of National City, California, hereby resolved and ordered as follows: SECTION 1. That the result of said election is hereby ascertain and declared as follows: That in consolidated voting precinct A of said City, (comprising State and County election precincts numbers 1 and 7), the total number of 1. votes cast at said election was 183 That there were in consolidated voting precinct A (comprising State and County election precincts numbers 1 and 7), at said election votes cast as follows, to -wit: For Trustees of said City: For David W.
