Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray and Addis. Minutes of meeting of April 16, 1928, read and approved. .The President of the Board announced the following as members of Standing Committees for ensuing term: Finance and Accounts, Trustees Murray, Fritz and Bird; Fire Department and Park, Trustee Cordingly; Streets and Public Property, Trustee Fritz; Police Department, Trustee Bif'd; Health Department, Trus- teesCordingly and Fritz; Planning Commission, E. Loiselle stating that he had replaced the two trees he removed at 419 Highland Avenue, and requesting return of deposit of $10.00 was read and referred to the Street Superintendent. •Corurunication from the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club and Realty Board regarding pleasure pier and asking the co-op- eration of the Board of Trustees was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the City Attorney be instructed to advise whether or not the City had a pleasure pier on the tidelands. .Petition of Francis X. Morrow business purposes on the Southeast the legal right to construct Carried. for building permit for corner of 2nd Street and Highland Avenue was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Fritz, that it be referred to the Planning Commission. Carried. .Bonds of City Treasurer and City Clerk were presented. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Bonds be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. be .Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the City Engineer instructed to meet with the Committees from the Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club and Realty Board regarding the pleasure pier. Carried. 178. .Petition of W. A. Cooper to have the grade established on L Avenue and 1st Street was read and referred to the City Engineer. .RESOLUTION NO. 1257, Accepting Deed of Vesta A. Whicker and Mae Waller for land for street purposes on D Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .RESOLUTION NO. 1258, Accepting Deed of E. T. Roberts and Wife for land for street purposes on D Avenue, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,ORDINANCE NO. , Amending Section 10 of Ordinance No. 578, regulating meat markets, etc., was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried. ,ORDINANCE NO. , Amending Sections 2 and 3 of Ordinance No. 583, regulating food handling, etc., was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that it be introduced and laid over under the rules and according to law. 'Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the grading of P Avenue 40 feet in width providing the remaining Deeds for a 60 foot street are in his possession by May 2, 1928. Carried. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that Mrs. L. K. Ogden be appointed Deputy City Treasurer for remaining half of the month at the rate of $125.00 per month. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the salary of the Deputy City Clerk and City Treasurer and Tax Collector, Margaret Bencini, be as follows, effective May 1, 1928: Deputy City Clerk, $115.00 per month; Deputy City Treasurer and Tax Collector, $10.00 per month. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn to Monday, April 23, 1928, at 7:30 Atclock P.M. Carried.
