Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz,
Murray and Addis.
Minutes of regular adjourned meeting of November 26, 1928,
read and approved.

present voting aye.
.Report of the City Marshal for month of November, 1928,
read and ordered filed.

,City Marshal Gardner recommended the appointment of
R. W. Miller as Deputy City Marshal to serve without compensation.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that R. W. Miller be appointed
Deputy City Marshal to serve without pay. Carried.
.Communication from M. S. Edgerton, Recorder, requesting
permission to purchase type -writer was read and referred to the
Finance Committee.
.Petition of J. A. Fritz for refund of $10.00 deposit for
removal of trees at 441 Highland Avenue, was read. Moved by
Bird, seconded by Murray, that the petition be granted and the
proper officers draw a warrant upon the General Fund in favor of
J. A. Fritz for $10.00. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
.Application of Walter L. Cagle to operate four card tables
in connection with cigar and tobacco store to be located at 733
National Avenue, was read and referred to the Police Committee.
oThe Police Committee recommended granting the same. Moved
by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that Walter L. Cagle be given
license to operate four card tables at 733 National Avenue.
Carried.
.Report of the Recorder for month of November, 1928, was
read and ordered filed.
,The City Engineer reported that bills of Griffith Company
for paving referred to him at last meeting were correct.
.Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the proper
officers draw a warrant on the General Fund for $1235.70 in
favor of Griffith Company for paving, etc. in front of Nly half
of Lot 8, and all of Lots 9 and 10, Block 1, Parson's Subdivision,
10 Acre Lot 15, * Section 154, and the construction of curbing
from E Avenue to Highland Avenue on the Nly side of 10th Street.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
`(ORDINANCE NO. 593, Repealing Ordinance No. 549, an Ordinance
amending Section 5 of Ordinance No. 540, fixing compensation of
certain officers, was placed on final passage, and on motion by
Bird, seconded by Murray, same adopted, all Trustees present
voting aye.

'ORDINANCE NO. 594, Amending Section 5 of Ordinance No.
540, fixing the salary of City Recorder at $150.00 per month,
was placed on final passage, and on motion by Fritz, seconded
by Cordingly, same adopted, all Trustees present voting aye.
'Moved by Bird, sedonded by Murray, that Joseph Piper be
employed as extra man for the Police Department and furnish his
own motorcycle, gasoline, etc. at a salary of $6.00 per day.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
'The Finance Committee recommended granting the request of
Chamber of Commerce for donation of $250.00. Moved by Murray,
seconded by Bird, that the proper officers draw a warrant on
the General Fund for $250.00 in favor of National City Chamber
of Commerce. Motion lost by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees
Bird, Murray. Nays, Trustees Cordingly, Fritz, Addis.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Board adjourn.
Carried.
