Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Bird, Cordingly,
Fritz and Murray.
Minutes of regular meeting of December 20, 1927, read and
approved.

.Mr. A. B. Feddern was present complaining of the condition
of Orange Street North of 18th Street. Same was
Street Department.
.Communication from Mary E. Barnes regarding
referred to the
condition of
8th Street in Paradise Valley was read and referred to the Street
Department.
,Communication from the Fire Chief regarding fire hydrants
in the City was read and laid over.

.Communication from the Fire Chief recommending the installa-
tion of a fire hydrant on Highland Avenue at the intersection of
5th Street and Highland Avenue, also one at the intersection of
l6th Street and Highland Avenue, was read and laid over.
)Communication from R.L.Amos regarding increase of salary
was read and referred to the Fire Department.
_Petition of W. B. Becker for pool hall license at 1820 6th
Avenue was read and laid over.

Eighth Street and Highland Avenue were opened, examined and pub-

,RESOLUTION NO. 1212, Sustaining appeals and correcting
diagram and assessment for the improvement of portions of 18th
Street and D Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis,
that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present
voting aye.
,Petition of property owners for a street light at the
intersection of J Avenue and 2nd Street was read and referred
to the Finance Committee.
,Petition of H. D. Bul-en to remove one tree in front of
Lots 6 and 7, Block 10, Kimball's Subdivision in 20 Acre Lot 3,
s Section 131, was read. The City Clerk was instructed to return
check as no offer to replace tree was made.
-Petition of Harry T. McCue, Night Watchman, for increase of
$25.00 per month in salary was read and referred to the Police
Committee.
.Complaint of property owners against Marshal Wright was
read and referred to the Police Department.
.Report of the Recorder for the month of December 1927
showing fines collected amounting to $1144.85 was read and ordered
filed.
.The Police Committee recommended that the request of Leslie
Knapp to be p&aced on a monthly salary of $200.00 per month be
granted. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City

Attorney be instructed to prepare a Resolution placing Leslie
Knapp on a monthly salary of $200.00 per month. Carried.
.The Street Department was given further time regarding
condition of 12th Street and D Avenue.
.The Finance Committee recommended the installation of the
street light at the intersection of J Avenue and 2nd Street.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that a 60 C.P. street light
be installed at the intersection of J Avenue and 2nd Street.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
.The City Engineer recommended that F. S. Callender and Peter -
Huisveld be given permission to pave a nine foot strip in front
of their property. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that F.S.
Callender and Peter Huisveld be given permission to pave a nine
foot strip in front of their property with oil macadam, work to
be done under the supervision of the Superintendent of Streets
and City Engineer. Carried.
,Report of the City Engineer on bids for the paving of
portions of 8th Street and Highland Avenue, recommending the
acceptance of the bid of Nelson & Sloan, was read and ordered
filed.
.Report of the City Engineer on bids for the paving and
other improvement of portions of Highland Avenue from Division
Street to 30th Street, recommending the acceptance of the bid
of King.S.Heath, was read and ordered filed.
RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1213 for the paving of portions of
8th Street and Highland Avenue to Nelson & Sloan was read. Moved
by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
'RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1214, for the paving and other
improvement of portions of Highland Avenue from Division Street
to 30th Street to King S. Heath was read. Moved by Fritz,
seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.

No. 1214 be approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
.ORDINANCE NO. , Creating the Department of Public
Health and Providing for the Appointment of Employees thereof
was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that it be introduced
and laid over under the rules and according to law. Carried.

was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that it be in-
troduced and laid over under the rules and according to law.
Carried.
.ORDINANCE NO. , Regulating the Slaughtering of Animals,
etc. was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that it be in-
troduced and laid over under the rules and according to law.
Carried.
;RESOLUTION NO. 1215, Accepting the Deed of Christina Yates
for land for street purposes on P Avenue was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1216, Accepting the Deed of J.D.Sullivan and
Maude H.Sullivan, his wife, for land for street purposes on P
Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
;RESOLUTION N0. 1217, Accepting the Deed of WM. Peterson
for land for street purposes on P Avenue was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
.RESOLUTION NO. 1218, Accepting the Deed of Fred Lanz for
land for street purposes on P Avenue was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
'(RESOLUTION NO. 1219, Accepting the Deed of H.W. Bennett and
Beatrice Bennett, his wife, for land for street purposes on P
Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

and Elsie Isacksen, his wife, for land for street purposes on P
Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1221, Accepting the Deed of,J. W. Carne and
Elizabeth Carne, his wife, for land for street purposes on P Avenue
was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolttion
be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be
adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
,RESOLUTION NO. 1223, Accepting the Deed of E. F. Coleman
and Hannah L. Coleman, his wife, for land for street purppses
on P Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the
Resolution be adopted. OArried, all Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1224, Establishing the grade on portion of
13th Street was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
(RESOLUTION NO. 1225, Ordering the City Engineer to prepare
plans and specifications for the grading and other improvement
of certain Avenues and Streets West of National Avenue and South
of 13th Street was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that
the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting
aye.
,Estimate of the City Engineer of quantities of work for the
grading and other improvement of certain Avenues and Streets West
of National Avenue and South of 13th Street was read and ordered
filed.
(RESOLUTION NO. 1226, Approving and Adopting the plans and
specifications and approving plat of district for the grading and
other improvement of certain Avenues andStreets West of National
Avenue and South of 13th Street was read. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.

RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1227 for the grading and other
improvement of certain Avenues and Streets West of National Avenue
and South of 13th Street was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by
Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees
present voting aye.
Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that a fire hydrant be
installed at the intersection of 5th Street and Highland Avenue
and one at 16th Street and Highland Avenue, Carried,a 11 Trustees
present voting aye.
Moved by Addis, seconded by Fritz, that the Board adjourn.
Carried.
