Trustees present- Addis, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray. Trustee Bird late. Minutes of regular meeting of Feb. 21, 1928, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 164. 1 .A representative of the Health Officer was present regarding the enforcement of ordinances regulating the handling of food, etc., requesting appointment of a deputy and the pur- chase of certain supplies. .Application of Harry Allen for position as Inspector of sidewalks, curbs, etc. was read and ordered filed. 'Trustee Bird arrives. 'Communication from L. S. Everts & Company submitting bid for audit of the city books from June 30, 1926 to and including April 16, 1928, for the sum of $295.00 was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the City Clerk be instructed to notify L. 5. Everts & Company that bid was accepted. Carried, all Trus- tees present voting aye. .Report of the hecorder for the month of February 1928 showing fines collected amounting to $868.00 was read and ordered filed. iThe matter of fire protection in Lincoln Acres was referred to the Fire Department and the Finance Committee. ,The Planning Commission was given further time to report on trees and the closing of the Alley in Block 150, which was referred to it at last meeting. 1 ,The Street Superintendent reported that he had taken up 1 the matter of parking space for the Bush Theatre and recommended that no space be given at the present time. ,The matter of refund of deposit to S. H. Rather of $40.00 for removal of trees was referred to the Street Department. .Bond of Art Gibbs, Sidewalk Builder, was presented. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Bond be approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. .Bonds of Frank M. Tattersall and W. H. Morton, Master Plumbers, were presented. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Bonds be approved, accpeted and ordered filed. Carried. J,RESOLUTION NO. 1237, Establishing the grade on portions of 1st and 5th Streets and the Alleys North of loth Street was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 165. ,RESOLUTION NO. 1238, Establishing the grade on portions of G, E, C and A Avenues and portion of 9th Street was read. Moved by Cord ingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1239, Directing the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for the paving and other im- provement of certain Streets, Avenues and Alleys North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenue was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1240, Approving and adopting plans and specifications and approving plat of district for the paving and other improvement of certain Streets, Avenues and Alleys North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Estimate of City Engineer of quantities for the paving and other improvement of certain Streets, Avenues and Alleys North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenues was read and ordered filed. RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1241, for the paving and other improvement of certain Streets, Avenues and Alleys North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,Estimate of City Engineer of work completed by Nelson & Sloan under contract dated Jan. 10, 1928, for paving of portions of 8th Street and Highland Avenue was read and ordered filed. RESOLUTION NO. 1242, Approving estimate of City Engineer and ordering payment of 75% of work completed by Nelson & Sloan in paving portions of 8th Street and Highland Avenue, amounting to $2,503.79, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. RESOLUTION NO. 1243, Calling General Municipal Election 166. to be held April 9, 1928, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Superintendent of Streets and the City Engineer be given permission to attend the Road Show at Los Angeles.
