Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees called to order
by the President. Trustees present- Addis, Cordingly,
Murray. Trustee Bird late.
Minutes of regular meeting of March 6,'1928, read
approved.
The following bills, audited by a majority of the

present voting aye.
•Petition of C. W. Loiselle to remove two pepper trees in
front of 419 Highland Avenue, accompanied by a deposit of
$$10.00 was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that
the petition be granted.

ordered filed.
Dickey to install gasoline storage
tank in parking at 1240 National Avenue was read. Moved by
Fritz, seconded by Addis, that the petition be granted, work

to be done under the supervision of the Fire Chief. Carried.
,Communication from War Department Office, Los Angeles,
regarding modification of Habor line at San Diego, California,
was read and ordered filed.
.Trustee Bird arrives.
.Petition of the Veteran's Welfare Board at Sacramento,
California, requesting cancellation of taxes levied against
certain property was read and referred to the City Attorney
and City Clerk.
•The Fire Committee recommended that five hydrants be
installed in the Lincoln Acres district. Moved by Bird,
seconded by Addis, that five fire hydrants be installed to be
located as follows: one at 18th Street and P Avenue; one at
20th Street and Van Ness Avenue; one at 22nd Street and Prospect
Street; one at 18th Street and Lanoitan Avenue; and one at 22nd
Street and Lanoitan Avenue. Carried, all Trustees present voting
aye.
•The Street Superintendent reported that the stumps were
not all removed in front of S. H. Rather's property on 18th
Street.
-Moved by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Map of Paradise
Hills Subdivision, Unit No. 3, be approved. Carried.
.Bond of A. W. Stephens, Master Plumber, was presented.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Bond be approved,
accepted and ordered filed. Carried.
1RESOLUTION NO. 1244, Accepting Deed of John H. Kammerer and
Wife for land for street purposes on D Avenue was read. Moved
by Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
-RES0LUTION NO. 1245, Approving and adopting the plans, etc.
for the paving of portions of the width of Streets and Avenues
East of 1st Avenue and North of loth Street was read. Moved
by Cordingly, seconded b7 Bird, that the Resolution be adopted.
Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.

(RESOLUTION NO. 1246, Directing the City Clerk to advertise
for bids for paving portions of the width of Streets and Avenues
East of 1st Avenue and North of loth Street, was read. Moved by
Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
JpRESOLUTION NO. 1247, Authorizing payment of bonded indebtedness
due March 15, 1928, amounting to $3,480.00 was read. Moved by
Bird, seconded by Addis, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
RESOLUTION NO. 1248, Accepting the Work of Nelson & Sloan
under contract dated Jan. 10, 1928, for the paving of portions
of 8th Street and Highland Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly,
seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all
Trustees present voting aye.
.RESOLUTION NO. 1249, Appointing R. E. Smith Deputy Assessor
was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Addis, that the
Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye.
.Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City Clerk
be instructed to purchase the necessary supplies for enforcing
ordinances regulating the handling of foodstuffs, etc. Carried,
all Trustees present voting aye.
•The City Engineer reported progress in the Sewer System.
Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Board
adjourn. Carried.
