Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Application of James F. Brower for position as City Engineer was read and ordered filed. 187. .Report of the Recorder for month of April, 1928, showing fines collected amounting to $504.00 was read and ordered filed. .Report of the Planning Commission recommending that the Alley in Block 150 be not closed and asking for further time regarding petition of Francis X. Morrow for building permit for business purposes at Southeast corner of 2nd Street and Highland Avenue was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the report be received and filed. ,Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the petition of property owners to close Alley in Block 150 be denied. Carried. 'The Street Superintendent reported the trees $anted by C. W. Loiselle as growing nicely. Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the proper officers draw a warrant on the General Fund in favor of C. W. Loiselle for $10.00, being refund of de- posit for removal of trees. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .The City Attorney reported that in his opinion the City could not construct a pleasure pier upon the tidelands. ,Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that proceedings be started for the graitng of P Avenue 40 feet in width from 4th to 18th Streets. Carried. .The Street Superintendent reported that he had hauled 27 loads of rubbish on clean-up day at a cost of $42.00, and re- commended that this be discontinued. He also reported that the rails for repairing of the wharf would cost $40.00 per ton. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Street Superintendent be instructed to make the necessary repairs to the wharf. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. .Bond of W. D. Gardner, City Marshal, was presented. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Murray, that the Bond be"approved, accepted and ordered filed. Carried. .Mr. Erickson was present regarding an aerial map for the City. The matter was referred to the Planning Commission. .Mr. Flack was present requesting that the Boy Scouts be given permission to parade Friday May 4, 1928, at four and seven 188. o'clock P.M., and also requested the City to decorate with flags. .Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the City Clerk be instructed to request the use of flags from the City of San Diego. Carried. -Moved by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, that the Street Superintendent be instructed to invest in a banner for National City, cost not to exceed $32.00. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'RESOLUTION NO. 1266, Accepting Easement for sewer from Elma Howell Edgar and Edith E. Watkin, was read. Moved by Murray, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. aRESOLUTION NO. 1267, Accepting Deed of Tony Iverson and Wife for land for street purposes on D Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Murray, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. J.RESOLUTION NO. 1268, Ordering final payment to Nelson & Sloan under contract dated January 10, 1928, for the paving of portions of 8th Street and Highland Avenue, amounting to $834.59, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the Reso- lution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'RESOLUTION NO. 1269, Authorizing payment of bonded indebted- ness due May 1, 1928, amounting to $262.50 was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Ftitz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. '.RESOLUTION NO. 1270 Ordering the work of the construction of sidewalks on portions of 2nd Street between Highland Avenue and Laurel Avenue was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
