Trustees present- Bird, Cordingly, Fritz, Murray, Addis. Minutes of regular meeting of Sept. 18, 1928, read and approved. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. . Petition of property owners on 2nd Street between Highland and Laurel Avenues requesting that a 4 inch water main be in- stalled and also a fire hydrant, was read and ordered filed. .Petition of J. A. Fritz to remove two pepper trees at 441 Highland Avenue, accompanied by deposit of $10.00, was read. Moved by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, that the petition be granted. Carried. . Communication 'from L. S. Everts & Co. regarding audit of Recorder's books was read and ordered filed. .Report of the Recorder for month of September, 1928, read and ordered filed. . Report of the City Marshal for month of September, 1928, read and ordered filed. --Communication from National City Chamber of Commerce regarding hearing on increase of water rates by Sweetwater Water Corporation was read and ordered filed. .Communication from J. W. Sterling regarding condition of Grove Street was read and referred to the Superintendent of Streets. ,Communication from California Eastern 0i1 Company regarding wharf was read and ordered filed. J.ORDINANCE NO. 591, Repealing Ordinance No. 551, fixing salary of the City Marshal, was placed on final passage, and on motion by Bird, seconded by Cordingly, same adopted,all Trustees present voting aye. .I,ARDINANCE NO. 592, Amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 540, fixing salary of City Marshal at $250.00 per month, was placed on final passage, and on motion by Cordingly, seconded by Bird, same adopted, by -the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Bird, Cord- ingly, Fritz, Murray. Nay, Trustee Addis. RESOLUTION NO. 1338, Accepting work of Griffith Company under contract dated April 30, 1928, paving strip on Streets 227. and Avenues North of loth Street and East of 1st Avenue, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Bird, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ?RESOLUTION NO. 1339, Directing City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for paving portions of 2nd Street between Highland and Laurel Avenues with Asphaltic concrete pavement, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ',RESOLUTION NO. 1340, Approving plans and specifications for paving portions of 2nd Street between Highland and Laurel Avenues with Asphaltic concrete pavement, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, ail Trustees present voting aye. ,Estithate of City Engineer for paving of portions of 2nd Street between Highland and Laurel Avenues with Asphaltic con- crete pavement, was read and ordered filed. RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1341, for paving portions of 2nd Street between Highland and Laurel Avenues with Asphaltic concrete pavement, was read. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cord- ingly, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. 'RESOLUTION NO. 1342, Accepting Deed of Chas. T. Adams and Wife for land for street purposes on C Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Pritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. ,RESOLUTION NO. 1343, Accepting Deed of Albert Dalton and Wife for land for street purposes on P Avenue, was read. Moved by Bird, seconded by Fritz, that the Resolution be adopted. Carried, all Trustees present voting aye. Moved by Fritz, seconded by Cordingly, that the Board adjourn. Carried.
